There was no helping it. The Uchiha Clan's Mangekyo was the natural bane of Tailed Beasts, restraining them no less effectively than Wood Release or the Uzumaki Clan's sealing techniques.

If the Nine-Tails and Uzumaki Naruto were in a Perfect Jinchuriki state, that would be one thing. But the Nine-Tails alone could never resist the power of the Mangekyo.

Uchiha Shūichi couldn't even be bothered to answer the Nine-Tails. He wasn't like Uzumaki Naruto, with his pure heart; there was no chance of earning the Nine-Tails' recognition through ordinary means.
