Heritage and position in Konoha

The Uchiha are an ancient bloodline clan whose lineage traces back more than a thousand years to the Sage of Six Paths. Their inheritance is identified with the Sage Eye, and the clan has accumulated secret techniques and spiritual relics across generations. 71 151

The clan claims status as one of Konoha's founding elders alongside the Senju. However, the narrative notes that the Uchiha joined the village only after their defeat by the Senju, making this claim a source of resentment among other clans. Regardless, Uchiha shinobi fought and died for Konoha in every Ninja World War. 69 84

The Nine-Tails attack sharply worsened the clan's relationship with the village. Because the Nine-Tails' eyes displayed the Sharingan pattern during the incident, many Konoha ninja suspected Uchiha involvement. Uchiha Guard members who were outside the compound participated in the defense, including Shūichi's parents, who died in the chaos. 1 8

Shisui's death and the postponed coup

After Uchiha Shisui's apparent suicide, the clan council gathered at the Naka River Shrine. Most members believed Konoha's higher-ups had orchestrated his death, while Shisui's loss deprived the clan of its strongest shinobi. 5
