History

The Soul Clan spent roughly a millennium preparing to overthrow the other Dou God Clans. Its intended sequence of eliminations was the Spirit Clan, Stone Clan, Yao Clan, and Yan Clan, while it waited for Nihility Devouring Flame to attain Emperor Realm Soul strength. The clan avoided openly seizing the Tou She Ancient God Jade from the Xiao Clan because doing so could expose its long-term plan and provoke the other clans. 109 127

Shi Kang's fabrication of an “Old Dragon Emperor” within the Ancient Void Dragon Clan disrupted this timetable. Intelligence sent by the Soul Clan's Stone Realm spy convinced Nihility Devouring Flame that the purported Nine-star Dou Saint was likely real, leading the Soul Clan to postpone its planned strike on the Stone Clan. 127

The Soul Clan instead invaded the Ling Realm. Nihility Devouring Flame, accompanied by Hun Jing and Hun Yan, annihilated the Spirit Clan, seized its Dou God Bloodline and Tou She Ancient God Jade, and hunted down its remaining members. 140

Its espionage network was uncovered after Shi Kang identified Shi Chu, the Second Elder guarding the Stone Clan's Ancient Jade, as a Soul Clan agent. At the Ancient Clan's coming-of-age ceremony, Gu Nan Hai publicly executed three exposed Soul Clan members. When that alliance fractured and isolated the Stone Clan, Hun Tiandi chose to attack the Yan Clan rather than the Yao Clan. The Soul Clan nearly exterminated the Yan Clan, took its Tou She Ancient God Jade, and harvested the clan's souls and bloodlines. Later, Hun Tiandi mobilized the Soul Clan's entire Dou Saint force for an all-out campaign against the remaining clans. Despite its concealed strength and accumulated resources, the Soul Clan was ultimately destroyed during the subsequent conflicts. 246 259
