History

Queen of the Snake People Clan

Medusa ruled the Snake People Clan while its people were confined to the harsh Tagor Desert. Her overriding goal was to break through, lead her clan out of the desert, and protect it from the surrounding empires. To achieve this, she sought the Green Lotus Core Flame and was prepared to risk her life using it for evolution. 9 10 28

Shi Kang arrived at the Snake People Clan with Shi Long and Shi Fei, whose pressure made clear that Medusa could not oppose them. Rather than risk the clan's destruction, she surrendered the Green Lotus Core Flame. When Shi Kang offered to lend it back in exchange for her following him after a successful evolution, Medusa accepted only after securing his promise not to harm her clan should she fail. 10 11 27

Evolution and the Stone Realm

Medusa entered the Ice Spirit Cold Spring, transformed into a giant purple python, and used the Green Lotus Core Flame to attempt her evolution. Although the resulting Lightning Tribulation appeared to destroy her python body, she survived and emerged as a Seven-Colored Little Snake. 29 30

Shi Kang took the weakened snake into his care and later brought her to the Stone Realm. Medusa initially could only return briefly to human form and involuntarily reverted to snake form, but she eventually gained stable control of her body and fully transformed into a human with legs rather than a snake tail. 44 46 57

The Stone Realm exposed the vast disparity between Medusa's former status in the Northwest Continent and the strength of the Shi Clan. Determined to obtain resources independently, she accepted a Task Hall mission to retrieve a Purple Glazed Flower and an Ironclad Ape's Magic Core; its Longevity Pill reward would extend the lives of her clan's elders. 58 59

The Forest Mission and the Snake People Clan's Rescue

Medusa defeated the Thunderous Tiger guarding the Purple Glazed Flower, then pursued the Ironclad Ape. Her decision to spare the Tiger allowed it to ambush her during the second battle; she killed the Ironclad Ape but was critically injured and cornered by the Tiger and its allies. 59 60 61

Shi Kang rescued her and returned her to the Stone Realm for treatment. The experience tempered Medusa's arrogance and made her more aware of both her limitations and the support Shi Kang had provided. 62 78

When hostile experts later surrounded the Snake People Clan in pursuit of the Heavenly Flame, Medusa pleaded with Shi Kang for help. Shi Kang dispatched the Dou Venerate Cai Yu, whose arrival forced the attackers to retreat and saved the clan. 81 82

Heavenly Tomb and Bloodline Evolution

After the Snake People Clan was given territory outside the Stone Realm, Medusa continued seeking greater strength so that her people could eventually enter the Stone Realm itself. Shi Kang secured her a place in the Heavenly Tomb, where she cultivated alongside him and Qing Lin by refining Energy Bodies. 145 146 150

Shi Kang later gave Medusa the Nine-Colored Raw Stone and brought her to the Nine Nether Yellow Springs. She entered seclusion there under Yao Ming's protection, seeking both a higher realm and evolution beyond the limits of the Seven-Colored Heavenly Swallowing Python bloodline. 166 167

After roughly two and a half years, Medusa emerged as a Nine-Colored Heavenly Swallowing Python with early Five-star Dou Saint cultivation. She had also discovered the inheritance of an ancient Seven-Colored Heavenly Swallowing Python, including numerous Remnant Souls. 196 197

Rather than use the Remnant Souls to create new Seven-Colored bloodline bearers among the Snake People Clan, Medusa chose to refine them herself after Shi Kang argued that reaching the Dou God realm would benefit her entire clan more profoundly. This refinement awakened the supreme talent dormant in her Nine-Colored bloodline and brought her to the Late Five-star Dou Saint realm. 197 233

Medusa begins as an immensely proud, aloof queen who is unused to yielding to anyone. Even when Shi Kang's strength forces her to lower her posture, she remains determined to retain her dignity and refuses to exchange her body for cultivation resources. 10 11 58

Her defining motivation is devotion to the Snake People Clan. She risks her life to evolve, accepts dangerous work for a Longevity Pill that could preserve her elders, and is willing to sacrifice herself when her clan faces destruction. 28 59 81

Although hardship makes her more reserved and realistic, Medusa remains stubborn, competitive, and unwilling to fall behind Shi Kang, Qing Lin, or the other cultivators around her.
