Background / History

Cai Lin was known as Queen Medusa, the proud ruler of the Snake People Race. She required a Heavenly Flame for her evolution and reacted with fury when Lin Mu proposed that she become his Dao companion should she lose their duel. Their clash escalated to the point of cracking space; Cai Lin revealed her true form and used snake shadows to confuse and assault him. 22

Her evolution succeeded under the protection of a seven-colored fire serpent, transforming her serpentine tail into human legs. Lin Mu later aided her evolution with the Seven-Colored Spirit Flame in the account of another life. 37 140

When the Heavenly Court faced an impending conflict, Cai Lin arrived alongside Cai Die and the Snake People Race elders. At nine-star Dou Ancestor, she was considered the Court's strongest combatant. 121

Cai Lin chose not to accompany Lin Mu immediately to the Middle Continent because Cai Die refused to leave her. She instead intended to cultivate with Cai Die at the Snake People Race ancestral land, help her sister reach Dou Ancestor, and remain behind as a powerful guardian for the Heavenly Court. 127

She later travelled with Lin Mu and Tian Chen through Heaven Breaking Mountain and the Ancient Battlefield. There, she assisted in recovering the Heaven-tier Dou Technique Heavenly Light Annihilation, protected treasure from opportunistic hunters with the Heavenly Spirit Sword, and continued to place her trust in Lin Mu's decisions. 179 182 185 190

Following her evolution, Cai Lin possesses a human form resembling Medusa, with long, fair legs replacing her former serpent tail. Her evolved bloodline is identified as the Nine-Colored Sky Swallowing Python. 37 118 205

Personality

Cai Lin is proud and easily provoked by insults to her dignity, especially from humans who underestimate or attempt to claim her. Lin Mu's proposal during their first battle enraged her enough to attack immediately. 22

Despite this pride, she is deeply responsible toward those under her care. She refuses to abandon Cai Die, commits herself to helping her sister grow, and elects to remain at the Heavenly Court because its defense requires a formidable expert. 127

She is also direct and pragmatic. Upon reaching Nine-Revolutions Dou Venerate, she dismisses any rivalry with Lin Mu, noting that his strength is already sufficient to kill Half-Saint experts. 203
