Background / History

Jun Wuji was a Taiyi Sect disciple on Shouyang Mountain whose greatest early ambition was to reach the Heaven Flower Realm, become a sect elder, and live with his junior sister Zi Han. His cultivation had stalled at the mid-stage Human Flower Realm, and he often kept a low profile to survive the sect's hierarchy. 230 252 276

He secretly left the sect to hunt bear paws for Zi Han, only to be badly injured and pursued for over ten miles by a demon bear. Di Xin saved him, and Jun Wuji responded by cutting off the bear's paws, roasting them, and sharing the meal with his rescuer. He then invited Di Xin—using the identity Li Feiyu—to join the Taiyi Sect and personally assisted with his entry arrangements. 222 223 224 228

His unrequited devotion to Zi Han initially consumed him. After Di Xin urged him to improve himself rather than continue chasing someone who ignored him, Jun Wuji let go of his attachment and began focusing fully on cultivation. This change immediately preceded a series of extraordinary Enlightenments. 231 232 237

During the Heavenly Mountain mission, Jun Wuji repeatedly entered Enlightenment, achieved Three Flowers Gathering at the Peak, and became the foremost cultivator among Taiyi Sect's younger disciples.
