Shaquille O'Neal said, "I've noticed a pattern, Charles. Want to hear it?"
Big Mouth Barkley asked, "What pattern?"
Shaquille O'Neal launched into an explanation. "As far as I can remember, every time the Raptors have been down by two in this game, Wang Yi has quickly answered with a three-pointer. And every time they've been down by two, he's made it!"
After hearing Shaquille O'Neal's words, Barkley thought it over, then said in surprise, "Now that you mention it, that's true!"
"From the first quarter until now, it seems like every time the Kings take a two-point lead, Wang Yi steps up and sinks a three to take the lead!"
Shaquille O'Neal said, "What does that tell us? It means Wang Yi is completely at ease out there. His command of the game has reached a whole new level."
Barkley said, "That must be incredibly frustrating for his opponents. Just imagine: every time you take a two-point lead, your opponent immediately hits a three to go ahead. How would that make you feel?"
"I'd drag that guy into the restroom, beat the crap out of him, kick his ass, and make sure he never played again."
Shaquille O'Neal answered without hesitation.
By then, it was the fourth quarter, with seven minutes remaining.
Since Wang Yi hadn't really exerted himself much over the past few minutes, the gap still hadn't widened.
The Raptors still led by one.
The Kings' head coach, Mike Brown, sent Danny and the other starters onto the court to fight the Raptors in the final showdown.
Bringing Danny in had an immediate effect.
With Danny on the court, Wang Yi had to devote more energy to guarding him, which naturally left the others a little less covered.
The ball went to Little Danny, who accelerated past Gates.
