Background

Yin'er was raised by Shi Yue alongside her elder sister, Jin'er. At Level Five, she could already destroy black-gold stone tablets that Shi Yue's Li Fire Swords had only lightly marked, using a silver lightning ball formed between her hands 584.

Her unusual heritage became apparent during her Level Eight tribulation. While asleep, she attracted the Demon Extermination Divine Thunder—a tribulation said to appear when ancient divine beasts undergo tribulation. She survived only after Shi Yue used the Exquisite House to shield her from the final strike; afterward, silver wings emerged from her back 1058 1059. Xiaoyaozi identified her original form as a Golden Silk Silkworm, altered by absorbing a giant egg and developing traits associated with both Flood Dragons and Illusion Flame Moths 1059.

The conflict between her Flood Dragon and Illusion Flame Moth bloodlines later caused Yin'er to lose control after the Five Dragon Palace attempted to claim her. The imbalance left her unconscious for years until Shi Yue gathered the ingredients for and refined the Blood Dissolving Pill, which restored her consciousness but left her unable to remember the events preceding her coma 1071 1072 1128.

Her Flood Dragon aura eventually drew the True Dragon Clan's attention. After she disguised herself as Qu Feiyan to lure away pursuers, Yin'er was captured by a Void Refining cultivator and then taken away by a powerful white-robed elder of the True Dragon Clan 1254 1255. Though the clan treated her well and accelerated her cultivation, Yin'er consistently wished to return to Shi Yue and Jin'er 1300 1811.

When Shi Yue was targeted by Yanluo Hall, Yin'er defied her grandmother's wishes to save him. She swore by the Sacred Dragon that she would remain within the True Dragon Clan afterward, then fought alongside the clan against Yanluo Hall's attackers 1421 1424. Shi Yue ultimately retrieved Yin'er from True Dragon Star after passing Ao Xiaotian's assessment of his devotion to both Yin'er and Jin'er 1813.

Yin'er generally appears as a young girl, but her body and form change with her bloodline and cultivation. Her transformed state has been described as carrying a wild aura and overwhelming other Spirit Beasts through bloodline pressure 1060.

Yin'er is playful, gluttonous, and frequently motivated by Spirit Herbs, Spirit Fruits, and Spirit Meals. She bargains with Shi Yue for better food, spends lavishly when given access to Spirit Stones, and often falls asleep after eating her fill 802 1147 1568. Her appetite became famous enough that cultivators estimated her daily consumption of Spirit Herbs and Spirit Fruits at roughly five million Spirit Stones 1819.

Despite her carefree behavior, Yin'er is clever and capable of deception. Xiaoyaozi considers her difficult to trick, and she successfully maintained the guise of Shi Yue's sister, Shi Bao, while managing Immortal Herb Pavilion 802 1146. She can also become serious when Shi Yue's interests or her companions are threatened.

Yin'er is deeply devoted to Shi Yue, whom she regards as family rather than merely a master. This loyalty persists even while she is cared for by the True Dragon Clan and becomes the reason she risks herself to help him against Yanluo Hall 1421 1811.
