Background

Xia Ruoxue grew up in a fishing village devastated by a sudden plague. She was the only survivor, leaving her orphaned; her adoptive father later taught her the martial art Falling Phoenix Thirteen Blades. Unknown to her at the time, Lin Family cultivators had taken her to an altar as a child for a ritual involving the young Lin Yunzhi, establishing the foundation for her later connection to the Blood Demon White Bone Technique 45 49.

She was a wandering woman when the Li Clan selected her as a replacement bride for Li Shuidao. The arrangement was effectively forced: Haoshan Li served as her temporary father, received the betrothal gifts, and married her into the family without her consent 37.
