Background / History

Tang San is Tang Hao's son and possesses Innate Full Soul Power along with Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer 354. He becomes Yu Xiaogang's disciple and trains with Shrek Academy, though his growing independence eventually strains that teacher-student relationship 117.

He first approaches Tang Xuan seeking the latter's method for absorbing Soul Rings beyond ordinary limits. Tang Xuan refuses to provide it freely, instead probing Tang San's interest in trading his hidden weapons for knowledge 59. Tang San later concludes that Tang Xuan also has Twin Martial Souls and becomes increasingly determined not to fall behind him 82.

Tang San's desire to cultivate both Martial Souls simultaneously leads him to reveal his secret to Tang Xuan. He absorbs a thousand-year Ghost Shadow Snake Soul Ring and openly discusses his plan to develop both Martial Souls rather than reserve the Clear Sky Hammer for only high-level rings 84. Tang Xuan deliberately encourages this approach because he believes it will compromise Tang San's long-term potential and risk his body exploding from overload 115 175.

During the Soul Master Tournament, Tang San draws widespread attention by revealing a ten-thousand-year fourth Soul Ring on Blue Silver Grass 115. He later unveils the Clear Sky Hammer against Feng Xiaotian, using Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer to secure victory and expose his Clear Sky Sect connection to Salas and Martial Soul Hall 124 125.

Following the tournament period, Tang Hao trains Tang San and helps him reach Soul King at seventeen 216. After Tang Xuan destroys the opportunity left by Tang San's mother and severely injures Tang Hao, Tang San resolves to grow stronger and seek revenge 254. He subsequently absorbs a 30,000-year Cave Demon Spider Soul Ring, reaching Level 56 before Tang Hao plans to send him to Slaughter City 256.

Appearance

Tang San is described as being the same age as Tang Xuan. His combat appearance is defined primarily by the manifestations of his two Martial Souls and the distinctive ring configuration on his Blue Silver Grass 110 115.

  • Blue Silver Grass can be released for control and shaped into sharp fragments for hidden-weapon techniques 144.
  • His Clear Sky Hammer is his second Martial Soul and signifies his descent from the Clear Sky Sect 124 125.
  • His Blue Silver Grass is shown with two yellow, one purple, and one black Soul Ring at the tournament 115.

Personality

Tang San is highly ambitious and intensely sensitive to the gap between his own strength and Tang Xuan's. He is unwilling to remain behind another Twin Martial Soul wielder and seeks methods that may accelerate his development, even when the risks are unclear 82 110.

He is protective of Xiao Wu and willing to bargain away the Godly Zhuge Crossbow in exchange for her rescue 80. His attachment to family also deepens after Tang Hao is injured and his mother's remaining opportunity is lost; he resolves to gain strength quickly to protect his father and pursue revenge 254.

His relationship with Yu Xiaogang becomes increasingly adversarial as he rejects his teacher's control over his cultivation. Tang San withholds information, resents Yu Xiaogang's demands, and insists that both Martial Souls should become powerful rather than treating one as a reserve 117.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, granting him two distinct paths of cultivation 354.

  • Blue Silver Grass — his primary control-type Martial Soul in tournament combat 124.
  • Clear Sky Hammer — his second Martial Soul and proof of his Clear Sky Sect heritage 124 125.
  • He chooses to attach rings to both Martial Souls simultaneously despite warnings and opposition from Yu Xiaogang 117.
  • Tang Xuan believes this development path damages Tang San's future potential and creates a risk of bodily overload 115 175.

Blue Silver Grass Control

Tang San uses Blue Silver Grass for battlefield control and unconventional attacks.

  • Gains an instant-cast group-control capability after obtaining his ten-thousand-year fourth Soul Ring 117.
  • His Level 56 Blue Silver Grass is stated to rival a 50,000-year Blue Silver King in strength 256.
  • He can shatter Blue Silver Grass into sharp pieces and launch them as concealed projectiles 144.

Clear Sky Hammer Techniques

Tang San uses inherited Clear Sky Sect techniques with his Clear Sky Hammer.

  • Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — used against Feng Xiaotian; its stacked-force method clashes evenly with Thirty-Six Consecutive Wind Wolf Slashes before Tang San wins 125.
  • His proficiency with the technique convinces Salas that he must have been instructed by a powerful Clear Sky Sect-linked teacher 125.
  • His hammer has at least one hundred-year Soul Ring by the time of his conflict with Yu Xiaogang 117.

Tang Sect Hidden Weapons

Tang San crafts and employs hidden weapons as a major part of his combat style.

  • Regards his personally made hidden weapons as his “lifeline” and refuses to give them to Tang Xuan easily 59.
  • Offers the Godly Zhuge Crossbow to Tang Xuan as payment for rescuing Xiao Wu 80.
  • Uses Tang Sect hidden weapons against the Martial Soul Hall Team, but they fail to significantly harm the opponents 144.
  • Combines Blue Silver Grass fragments with rapid hand techniques in an attack likened to heavenly maidens scattering flowers 144.

Mysterious Jade Hand

Tang San channels his remaining Soul Power into his right hand to form the Mysterious Jade Hand state 144.

  • Used immediately before launching Blue Silver Grass fragments as projectiles 144.
  • Functions as part of his hidden-weapon fighting method 144.

Mental Resilience

Tang San endures Shi Nian's illusion, which forces him to relive traumatic memories, including his Tang Sect expulsion and Xiao Wu's humiliation 119.

  • Recognizes that he is trapped in a repeating phantom loop 119.
  • Survives Shi Nian's psychological assault despite screaming and struggling under the illusion 119.
  • Later gains Physical Fitness and Mental Power through Tang Hao's training, reaching a level roughly comparable to a Soul Emperor or Soul Saint in those attributes 253.

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — father. Tang Hao protects and trains Tang San, confirms his breakthrough to Level 50, and later plans to send him to Slaughter City 60 216 256.
  • Xiao Wu — close companion whom Tang San is determined to protect; he offers the Godly Zhuge Crossbow for her rescue and checks her carefully after she returns safely 80 83.
  • Tang Xuan — uncle and rival. Tang San seeks his cultivation secrets, while Tang Xuan repeatedly manipulates him and intentionally steers him toward cultivating both Martial Souls at once 59 83 110 175.
  • Yu Xiaogang — teacher. Their relationship deteriorates after Tang San rejects Xiaogang's preferred Twin Martial Soul plan and begins hiding information from him 117.
  • Flender — Shrek Academy figure who observes the growing rift between Tang San and Yu Xiaogang 117.
  • Zhao Wuji — Shrek Academy teacher who stops Tang San from recklessly pursuing the Titan Giant Ape and later reprimands him for leaving the group 80 84.
  • Feng Xiaotian — tournament opponent defeated after Tang San reveals the Clear Sky Hammer 124.
  • Salas — Martial Soul Hall figure whose hostility intensifies after Tang San exposes his Clear Sky Hammer and Clear Sky Sect techniques 125.
  • Shi Nian — Blue Sunshine Academy teacher who traps Tang San in a lethal illusion 119.
