He first approaches Tang Xuan seeking the latter's method for absorbing Soul Rings beyond ordinary limits. Tang Xuan refuses to provide it freely, instead probing Tang San's interest in trading his hidden weapons for knowledge 59. Tang San later concludes that Tang Xuan also has Twin Martial Souls and becomes increasingly determined not to fall behind him 82.
