Has Nothing to Do With Me

The next few days were clearly going to be rough for the Phantom Thieves.

Akechi Goro's remarks on the show naturally sparked plenty of discussion, but the most controversial part was clearly Duanmu Ai's merciless condemnation and mockery. For a time, people online were up in arms over Duanmu Ai's comments. Most thought she was far too lacking in compassion, but some believed she had merely said what everyone else was afraid to say.

So what did the Phantom Thieves themselves think about it?

"She's talking complete nonsense!"

Sakamoto Ryuji slammed his fist onto the table in fury.

"We clearly did good things! We saved so many people, and she actually said our existence was meaningless? Were the people we saved not worth saving?"

"Her argument isn't entirely unreasonable. It's just that... I don't think most people have the courage to stand up."

Kitagawa Yusuke, who had only recently joined the Phantom Thieves, shook his head.

"That's exactly why the Phantom Thieves need to exist, isn't it!?"

"Ryuji, you're being too loud."

Amamiya Ren reminded him quietly while staring at the television. The host and experts were still arguing endlessly over the issue. Although Duanmu Ai's remarks were controversial, they had to admit that they were incredibly bold. On the one hand, it was impossible to say she was wrong, but on the other, it certainly wasn't the kind of opinion people could accept.

Of course, Duanmu Ai herself didn't care in the slightest.

Just then, Takami Anne sighed.

"I think... maybe we really did do something wrong?"

"What are you talking about?"

Sakamoto Ryuji glared at Takami Anne unhappily.

"Are you saying we shouldn't have done any of this? That we shouldn't have sent that bastard Kamoshida to prison? Or that con artist Madarame?"
