Dark Night City

Although quite a few people wanted to accompany Duanmu Huai to Mary's World, Duanmu Huai still rejected their requests. After all, that world was simply too special, and he generally didn't dare bring people there on a whim.

Seriously, what if someone bought a handicraft from a street stall out of boredom, only to discover that it was the God Statue of some Evil God? That was why he refused the others' requests to visit Mary's World, bringing only an Inquisition warship before returning there once more.

Since Mary had already communicated with the other party, Duanmu Huai didn't waste any more time this time. He soon arrived at the city where the commissioning organization was located, but... the situation here was still somewhat beyond his expectations.

Only after all this was over did Duanmu Huai see a bearded man appear before them.

"Welcome. We're very sorry to greet you in this manner."

"Looks like your situation is really bad."

As he spoke, Duanmu Huai glanced around. The building was located on the outskirts of the city, by the entrance and exit of the highway. From the outside, it looked like a toll station. Inside, however, guards armed to the teeth were everywhere. They were even wearing heavy riot gear, and the weapons in their hands were all heavy firepower.

If the entire city weren't still relatively quiet, Duanmu Huai might have thought it had already entered a state of war.

"In fact, it really is that bad."

The bearded man looked solemn.
