"Mary! Do it!"
That was the last thing Duanmu Huai said.
The next moment, everything around them fell into absolute silence.
It wasn't that no sounds were being made. They could still see the thugs opening their mouths in furious roars and transforming into werewolves.
Yet not a single sound came out, even when they charged forward and Duanmu Huai grabbed one by the head and smashed it into the ground. The entire street remained deathly quiet.
It was as if they were watching a movie on television and someone had pressed the mute button.
Silence Spell!
That was right. Duanmu Huai and Mary had discussed this before coming here. Investigators couldn't afford to alert the public, so the best solution was naturally to make no sound.
Fortunately, Mary was a bard and had learned quite a few useful support spells. The Silence Spell was naturally one of the most useful among them.
Thus, even though they were now fighting openly in the street, they wouldn't cause the slightest disturbance.
The werewolves were clearly shocked and terrified. They opened their mouths and shouted, but not a trace of sound came out.
Before they could figure out what had happened, Duanmu Huai had already charged forward. He reached out and grabbed the upper and lower jaws of the werewolf that had provoked him earlier, then violently pulled them apart.
With that, he forcibly split the distorted wolf head in two.
"-------!"
Seeing their companion killed, the other werewolves leaped up and pounced on Duanmu Huai. They raised their razor-sharp claws and slashed at his body.
Those claws could even pierce thick riot gear. Once someone was wounded by a werewolf, it wouldn't be long before the victim transformed into one as well.
But this time, they had hit an iron wall.
