In the woods outside Konoha, moonlight leaked through the gaps in the branches and leaves, scattering tiny specks of light across the grass.
Chiyo sat leaning against the trunk of a large tree, his long white hair spilling over both shoulders, his thin light-gray coat hanging open to reveal the black shirt underneath.
Kaguya leaned in his arms.
Their long white hair tangled together, and under the moonlight, it was impossible to tell which strands were hers and which were his.
Her head rested on his shoulder, her eyes half closed, her lashes casting a small fan-shaped shadow over her cheek.
"Chiyo."
"Mm."
"In that world... is there a moon?"
"There is."
Chiyo lowered his head and glanced at her.
Kaguya's eyes were already fully closed, her breathing light and slow, like a cat curled up in its owner's arms.
A faint smile hung at the corner of her mouth.
Kaguya opened her eyes a slit, and Chiyo's face was reflected in those Byakugan eyes.
"Under the moon!"
"There's a Sky City."
"In the city, there are demons, Half-demons, and humans."
"And there's a huge cherry blossom grove. The sakura bloom all year round and never wither."
Kaguya was silent for a moment.
"You planted them?"
"Mm."
Kaguya buried her face deeper into the hollow of Chiyo's neck, the tip of her nose brushing against his skin.
"They're what you use to coax girls, aren't they?"
Chiyo did not deny it.
His hand rested at Kaguya's waist, his thumb unconsciously rubbing lightly over the fabric of her clothes.
Kaguya's body tensed slightly.
Then she relaxed, like snow melted by the sun, softening bit by bit in his arms.
"Kaguya."
"Mm."
"Have you ever thought about leaving this place?"
Kaguya's movements paused.
She lifted her head and looked at Chiyo.
