Background / History
Shoko left Crychic and withdrew from her former friends while her family circumstances deteriorated. After leaving the Toyokawa family to live with her father, Toyokawa Kiyotaka, she supported herself through work at the 10GIA music store, a customer-service company, and other part-time jobs. Her father’s alcoholism and theft of her savings left her financially strained and emotionally isolated. 33 40 73 262
Her connection to Crychic began on the Moon Forest overpass, where she invited Takamatsu Tomo to form a band. The location later became associated with both the beginning of her musical dream and a personal crisis: after her savings were stolen, Shoko stood on the bridge railing and was pulled down by Bai Qiu before she could fall. 41 42
Though she initially avoided her former bandmates, Shoko gradually confronted the consequences of leaving. She refused Nagasaki Sosei’s requests to revive Crychic, but later apologized to Akari and ultimately admitted to the group that she had left because of her family situation. 76 109 131 166 167
