Background
More than a century before the events at Yin Mountain, King Yue emerged as an invincible great demon. He slaughtered much of the martial world, compelled the emperor to grant him the title “King Yue,” and preyed upon the populace. His power came chiefly from the Blood Origin Pearl, which absorbed experts’ vital blood to strengthen him and preserve his vitality. 1
At the age of one hundred, King Yue disappeared and was believed dead. In reality, he entered dormancy through the Blood Origin Pearl, waiting for a new generation of martial artists to mature. He constructed an underground palace beneath Yin Mountain as both tomb and trap, then buried its thousands of laborers alive to conceal it. 1 2
Fifty years later, news of the palace’s location drew martial artists seeking the Blood Origin Pearl. King Yue intended to let the experts kill one another, absorb the survivors’ vital blood, and extend his life again. Zhang Yunhao’s arrival disrupted this plan by killing experts and dissolving their corpses before the pearl could absorb their blood. 1 2 7
Appearance
King Yue appears as a man dressed entirely in red. During combat, his hand swells and turns blood-red when he employs the Blood Hand Seal. 7
- Wears red clothing and bears the Blood Origin Pearl around his neck. 5
- Emerges from the underground palace as a mysterious blood-red figure. 6
- His Blood Hand Seal transforms his striking hand into a visibly enlarged, crimson weapon. 7
Personality
King Yue is supremely arrogant, believing his long-standing invincibility places him beyond challenge. He treats the martial artists drawn into his palace as crops to be harvested and considers Zhang Yunhao’s interference a grave offense against him. 7
His pursuit of longevity has left him fearful of death despite his bravado. Zhang Yunhao exploits this weakness by repeatedly threatening mutual destruction, forcing King Yue to withdraw rather than risk his own life. 8
Near death, King Yue recognizes that he had once possessed the same ambition and vigor he sees in Zhang Yunhao, but had become dependent on consuming others’ blood to survive. 8
Abilities & Skills
Blood Origin Pearl
King Yue uses the Blood Origin Pearl to absorb vital blood, restore his strength, heal injuries, and preserve his life beyond normal limits. Only the vital blood of powerful experts is useful for sustaining him. 1 7 8
- Allows him to enter dormancy and await future generations of experts. 7
- Absorbs bloodshed within the underground palace and feeds it back to him. 2
- Rapidly heals him after Zhang Yunhao’s Leopard Fist severely damages his internal organs. 8
- Its restoration is limited by the amount of blood available; Zhang Yunhao’s destruction of corpses leaves King Yue with only enough vitality for another two or three years. 7
Blood Hand Seal
King Yue’s signature martial art is the Blood Hand Seal, a powerful palm technique capable of leaving blood-red palm prints and killing opponents in a single strike. 5 7
- Its direct force badly injures Zhang Yunhao’s fists even when blocked with both hands. 7
- King Yue can block a spearhead with his blood-red palm, breaking the weapon under their opposing force. 8
- The manual later reveals that King Yue practiced only its masculine aspect; the complete Yin Yang Blood Hand Seal also contains a feminine force that destroys internal organs without external wounds. 10
- He never mastered the fusion of its masculine and feminine aspects. 10
Blood Burning Secret Technique
Driven into a rage by Zhang Yunhao’s refusal to yield, King Yue burns his own vital energy to enlarge and accelerate the Blood Hand Seal. 8
- Overwhelms Zhang Yunhao before he can employ another mutual-kill exchange. 8

Martial Attainments

- Relies on overwhelming strength rather than pursuing greater technical mastery. 7
