"Magnetic Field Rotation!"
Ever since arriving in this era, Wei Xiuming had enjoyed smooth sailing in everything he did, thanks to his understanding of the plot and his wealth of knowledge from the future. Even Nick Fury—the Black Eggplant—had been completely taken in by the far-fetched information he'd fed him. Aside from the period when the explosive growth of his Magnetic Field Rotation powers had caused his body to change beyond his expectations, this was the first time Wei Xiuming had felt afraid.
The greatest fear was fear of the unknown. Faced with the mysterious Ancient One and the equally unfathomable magic, Wei Xiuming proceeded with utmost caution.
It was as if a nuclear reactor had ignited inside him. Wei Xiuming's immense power surged into motion in an instant, waiting only for an opportunity to unleash itself and destroy everything in sight.
For the first time, he unleashed his Magnetic Field Rotation powers without holding anything back. Three battle markings silently appeared on his forehead and cheeks. The air seemed to freeze under the pressure of his power, while his white lab coat fluttered despite the lack of wind.
Master Gu Yi stood within arm's reach, yet without any visible movement, she seemed to drift farther away from Wei Xiuming. Space suddenly unfolded like a kaleidoscope, like a Rubik's Cube twisted by an invisible hand. It spun and split apart in every direction, then randomly recombined into all kinds of shapes.
At some point, the Ancient One had already drawn Wei Xiuming into the Mirror Dimension. This not only kept their battle from affecting the people and things outside, but also blocked Wei Xiuming's escape route.
"The Mirror Dimension... If I'd learned this move a few years earlier, I could've launched a Kamen Rider crossover." After a random association, Wei Xiuming refocused on the situation before him. Whether he could get through this trial was still up in the air.
The original three-dimensional space shifted into something resembling a four-dimensional state. As space moved and rearranged itself, Earth's gravity became chaotic. If he took the direction above his head as "up," then with his very next step gravity might pull him in any direction. Electric Current Propulsion could let him walk vertically up walls, but even Wei Xiuming would find an unpredictable environment like this troublesome.
Never mind whether this chaotic spatial arrangement concealed any dangers; its disorderly layout alone was enough to make an ordinary person dizzy. Without a certain degree of knowledge about space, moving through it would be impossible.
And the space kept changing. The rules governing those changes were in the Ancient One's hands. At full strength, Wei Xiuming could construct a complete spatial model in his mind in a fraction of a second. But if his brain couldn't calculate faster than the Ancient One, he would be thwarted at every turn.
"Visitor from another world, I mean you no harm," The Ancient One said. "The moment you arrived in this universe, I received a vision. You are not someone I need to drive away."
Despite her words, the Ancient One showed none of the goodwill one might expect. A portal rimmed with golden sparks opened behind her. She leaped backward into it and reappeared behind Wei Xiuming.
"Sea Tiger Blast Punch!"
The original owner of Wei Xiuming's body, Clark Kent, had been a first-rate weapon, with countless battles to the death under his belt. His sixth sense had been honed to an exceptional degree. After Wei Xiuming began practicing Magnetic Field Rotation, his senses had been enhanced to almost supernatural levels, and he'd also gained some abilities similar to Spider-Man's Spider-Sense. The moment the Ancient One came through the portal behind him, he sensed her—and threw a punch with everything he had.
This was Wei Xiuming's strongest punch at his current level. His Magnetic Field Rotation reached fifty thousand units. The original owner's pent-up desolation and frustration, his joy at being freed by the Infinite Flow Male Protagonist, his fear when the other man's Golden Finger banished him to this universe, and all the lies and schemes he'd used to achieve his goals... Wei Xiuming fused every emotion and state of mind into this punch, forging it into the ultimate Sea Tiger Blast Punch.
The force contained in the punch spread outward. The magnetic field made the molecules in the air move rapidly, while flashes of electricity appeared from nowhere and lashed at everything around them. Wei Xiuming's Sea Tiger Blast Punch came with astonishing force.
As he'd hoped, the punch connected with the Ancient One. She held a golden magic shield in each hand, layering them together, but they still shattered under the Sea Tiger Blast Punch. Then she took the punch head-on.
The hit landed, but the Ancient One wasn't pulverized by its force. Instead, she dispersed into a phantom that flowed toward a certain direction. There, an unharmed Ancient One watched him with interest.
The shift in space had left the Ancient One and Wei Xiuming oriented in completely opposite directions. To her, he stood upside down. And she wasn't alone: more than a dozen Ancient Ones were scattered throughout the area, all watching Wei Xiuming.
The one he'd just defeated with a punch was merely one of the Ancient One's magical duplicates. Her real body was unharmed, and she had plenty more duplicates waiting for him.
"I let my guard down! It's the Eikons of the Form!"
As a magical showpiece in Avengers: Infinity War, when Doctor Strange fought Thanos, Eikons of the Form was known for its opening pose, which resembled the Thousand-Handed Guanyin. The move created physical duplicates, earning it the joking nickname "Marvel's Multiple Shadow Clones Technique." Wei Xiuming knew of it.
He'd put everything into one punch, only to take out a harmless duplicate. No matter how he looked at it, Wei Xiuming was at a disadvantage.
Compared to Doctor Strange, the Ancient One had honed her magic for who knew how many centuries and was far more adept. She barely needed any elaborate gestures before unleashing spells in a torrent. She also had a much greater reserve of magical power, so she wouldn't tire after casting a few spells like someone with Kidney Deficiency.
The result was that although Wei Xiuming was strong enough to shatter an ocean liner with one punch, the barrage of disruptive magic left him trading blows with the Ancient One's duplicates without being able to inflict any meaningful damage. The constant interference also kept him from tracking the changing space, which hampered him badly.
Even as magical duplicates, each could act as an independent individual and cast spells. They were linked telepathically and fought together in perfect formation, leaving Wei Xiuming thoroughly at a loss.
Taking advantage of the terrain, some of the Ancient One's duplicates used Energy Whips to attack Wei Xiuming from a distance, while others restrained his movements with Cyttorak's Crimson Chains. The rest split into two groups. One group traced circles in the air with their bare hands to open portals, letting their "allies" travel back and forth. The final group wielded a Ring of the Vishanti in the left hand and a Sacred Sword of Vishanti in the right, serving as the battlefield's sword-and-shield troops. They used portals to close in on Wei Xiuming, slash at him, then leap back through and disappear into the distance, thoroughly versed in the ways of an assassin.
With tactics like these, even Thanos—armed with the Infinity Gauntlet and empowered by two Infinity Stones—would have been brought to his knees.
Thanks to the boost from his Magnetic Field Rotation powers and the formidable self-healing ability granted by his Deathbird genes, Wei Xiuming avoided being hacked into chunks by the relentless attacks. But he had still expended a great deal of stamina.
