Background

Tian Dao was once a feared, ambitious martial artist and the world's number one fighter. His mastery of the Heavenly Martial Killing Dao made him renowned, while his successive disciple Bai Cinan later inherited the title of strongest in the world. 5 18 34

After the First World War, Tian Dao became disheartened with power, bloodshed, and life-or-death struggles. He withdrew into a quieter life, teaching children from his manor courtyard; his facial battle markings had disappeared by eight years before the main events. 5 6 7

More than twenty years earlier, Tian Dao recovered a silver Prism Pillar while exploring ruins. He kept it forgotten among his possessions until Liu Tian's own pillar and Bai Cinan's inquiries reminded him of it. 19

Story Role
