"All living things have weaknesses, and I, Batman, will find hers."

Once Bruce Wayne, clad in the Anti-Batman Armor, felt somewhat better, he rose to his feet.

His gaze settled on Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy on the upstairs corridor.

With a sharp swing of his arm, a grappling line hooked onto the railing, and his body swiftly shot toward Bai Lang and the others.

"What are you trying to do? Poison Ivy... and Harley?"

"Batman, if you killed Joker, you should have expected this day to come!"

Harley Quinn raised a rifle and a rocket launcher, firing madly at Batman, Bruce Wayne.

Rat-a-tat-tat-tat!!

Bullets tore through the air ahead like they cost nothing.

Boom! Boom! Boom!!

Shells bombarded them in a frenzy.

Batman Bruce Wayne spread his cape, using it to block every bullet and shell so Gordon and Bai Lang would not be harmed.

"Harley, you should know this won't kill me."

The Anti-Batman Armor, made from nanomaterials, was incredibly sturdy, blocking all the bullets and the shockwaves from the explosions.

Seeing this, Bai Lang hurriedly led Gordon and Olivia out of Mercy Hospital.

"Move. Now's our chance."

From the looks of it, Poison Ivy was about to have a major fight with Batman.

He had no idea whether Bruce Wayne could beat her without having arranged a fight beforehand.

But that was none of his concern. As long as he got Director Gordon out safely, he would earn another large batch of Ability Points.

After running for a while, the group finally reached the entrance of Mercy Hospital.

It was late at night. Several police cars were parked outside, and two helicopters hovered overhead, each fitted with twin Gatling guns.

Detective Bullock leaned against a police car, smoking nonstop with his brows tightly furrowed.

Several Police Officers nearby were carrying a few bodies out of Mercy Hospital. They appeared to be the officers who had entered earlier.

When he saw Bai Lang emerge with Director Gordon and the little girl Olivia, Bullock raised his tightly knit brows.

"Detective Bai Lang, you really got Director Gordon out?"

Then he added, "Director Gordon, what happened to you? Did they cut out a kidney?"

Gordon had no time for small talk and immediately ordered, "Detective Bullock, send people inside at once. Dollmaker was trafficking organs here!"

"Many people have suffered at this place!"

A pale blue notification window appeared before Bai Lang. He knew these were the Ability Points he had earned for rescuing Director Gordon.

Vroom! Vroom! Vroom!!

Violent noises came from the abandoned hospital in the distance.

Bai Lang snapped back to his senses and turned toward Mercy Hospital.

Dust periodically billowed from the walls and ceilings of the decrepit old building before slowly drifting down.

Massive vines burst from the hospital's windows, doors, and other cracks, as though it had become territory claimed by plants.

Flashes of explosions occasionally lit up, scorching the vines and blasting the walls into rubble.

Boom!!

A massive explosion rang out from the hospital, sending rubble and charred vines flying.

A huge black shadow escaped from the flames. It was Batman, Bruce Wayne.

He drove the Batmobile away into the distance.

Bai Lang looked at Mercy Hospital, engulfed in flames, and could not help shaking his head.

"Looks like this incident was Poison Ivy and Harley's plan all along, meant to lure out Batman, Bruce Wayne."

He recalled what he had heard after Harley Quinn saved him a few days ago.

Because he had killed Joker, Harley had planned to take revenge on the real Batman, Bruce Wayne.

So they found Dollmaker and devised this conspiracy.

But that was not how the original comic storyline had gone.

Perhaps it was because the first Joker had died.

Lost in thought, Bai Lang walked down the dark street as the breeze gently brushed past him.

Occasionally, a few dark figures lurked by the roadside. They looked like robbers or thieves lying in wait.

When they saw Bai Lang's tall, muscular frame and the gun holstered at his waist, they backed down.

A slight, frail figure barely reaching Bai Lang's waist blocked his path.

"Sir, want to have some fun?" a girl's slightly hoarse voice asked.

"Just fifty US dollars. I'll do anything."

Bai Lang looked up and saw a little girl of around thirteen or fourteen standing before him, about the same age as Olivia from earlier.

He shifted his gaze behind the girl. By the alleyway, he could clearly see several figures watching him.

They were probably running a honey trap scam.

He frowned, unable to stop himself from wondering what he had been doing at that age.

Probably playing marbles...

Bai Lang shook his head inwardly. He always felt out of place in this city.

This was not his city. This was Gotham, the city of Batman, Bruce Wayne.

"I'm not interested. But you should be careful being out this late."

After refusing her, Bai Lang walked past the little girl and headed out.

But before he had gone far, he realized he had been surrounded.

Three Black men and two white men encircled him. They were thin and looked to be in their early twenties. The white man at the front held a gun.

The little girl stood behind them, looking frightened.

"If you attack a police officer, I have the right to shoot every one of you dead," Bai Lang said coldly, raising an eyebrow.

"Officer, we can't survive anymore."

"Just fifty US dollars. Fifty US dollars is enough for the six of us to have one full meal!" said one of the sturdier white men at the front, his expression tense.

"And after those fifty US dollars? What will you do when you're hungry again? Keep robbing people? Maybe kill someone during a robbery, or maybe get shot dead by the police?" Bai Lang looked at them expressionlessly.

"We don't want to do this either. Ever since the Red Rose Bar went bankrupt and closed down, we've been unemployed. We really have no other choice, Officer!"

The white man raised his gun and aimed it at Bai Lang. Even the hand holding the gun trembled slightly, as though this was his first time doing something like this.

Seeing the tension on their faces, Bai Lang recalled that the Red Rose Bar had gone bankrupt because of him.

He could not help sighing inwardly.

"Here's one hundred US dollars. Take them to this place and find someone named Gardner. Tell him Bai Lang sent you. Then hand the gun over to him. He'll arrange work for you."

Beck took the one-hundred-dollar bill Bai Lang handed him, then looked at the man's retreating back with uncertainty.

"Could Gotham really have someone this kind-hearted?"

[Ability Points +2] [Name: Bai Lang] [Lifespan: 23/120] [Abilities: Level 1 Firearms Mastery (71%), Level 1 Power Control 85%, Current Propulsion 202,000 volts/500,000 volts (Advanced Ability: Magnetic Field Rotation)] [Ability Points: 47 (Can be obtained by creating ripples of influence in the world)] [Spend 50 Ability Points to draw another ability or unlock a function]

"Today, I gained forty-five Ability Points at once, and just now I gained another two, making forty-seven in total."

"Although killing Dollmaker gave me twenty points, compared to killing someone outright and exhausting the source, it would be better to create a major impact and keep gaining Ability Points."

"For example, causing predetermined events to deviate, making people who were supposed to follow one path take another."

"If I can cause an important person to undergo a major change in personality, perhaps I can gain even more Ability Points."

"Or perhaps completely change this city..."
