Back in Heaven Dou City, Lu Jing revealed his plan to bring Soul Tool Technology across time and set out with Wang Dong'er and Snow Empress for the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye.

• Bo Saixi confirmed that Lu Jing had inherited the God of Destruction, while Wang Dong'er began the Sea God's Nine Trials and trained beneath the Sea God's Light.
• Snow Empress challenged Bo Saixi to a fierce sparring match, and the two emerged weakened but respectful of each other's strength.
• After four years of training, Wang Dong'er reached rank eighty-seven and Lu Jing reached rank ninety-three, and Wang Dong'er pulled the Sea God Trident from its altar with Lu Jing's help.
• Wang Dong'er revealed that her Eighth Trial was to kill the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King, and she and Lu Jing became lovers before leaving Sea God Island with Snow Empress.
• Lu Jing and Wang Dong'er discussed the possibility that Tang Hao had exploited Ah Yin, and Wang Dong'er decided to revive her so she could learn the truth and seek justice.

Lu Jing brought Snow Empress to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye, where her tribulation prompted him to awaken the Dragon King Remnant Souls before Gu Yuena took him away. As Gu Yuena questioned him about the Soul Beast Clan’s fate and the Dragon God’s agreement, Snow Empress returned to find Wang Dong'er and set out to learn where Lu Jing had gone.

• Lu Jing, Wang Dong'er, and Snow Empress reached the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Eye, where Snow Empress began a breakthrough that triggered her seven-hundred-thousand-year tribulation.
• Dugu Bo attacked Lu Jing and Wang Dong'er, then accepted Lu Jing’s offer to cure him and Dugu Yan in exchange for serving when called upon.
• Snow Empress endured the tribulation until its final Heavenly Punishment wounded her, and Lu Jing awakened the Ice Dragon King and Fire Dragon King Remnant Souls to save her.
• The Dragon Kings dispersed the Heavenly Punishment before their remnants faded, and Gu Yuena arrived, recognized Lu Jing’s inheritance, and took him through a spatial rift.
• Snow Empress broke through and freed Wang Dong'er, then took her to Heaven Dou City while Gu Yuena questioned Lu Jing at the bottom of the Lake of Life.
• Lu Jing told Gu Yuena that Soul Masters’ dependence on Soul Rings was built into the world’s rules, then revealed that the Dragon God had proposed the restriction on Soul Beasts ascending to godhood.
• Gu Yuena collapsed after hearing that the Dragon God may have condemned his own people, while Snow Empress identified her as the Soul Beast Co-Lord and flew to seek Di Tian.
• Wang Dong'er awoke in Heaven Dou City and sobbed to Qian Renxue that she had seen Gu Yuena take Lu Jing but could not stop her.

Lu Jing escaped Gu Yuena’s Life Space and returned to Snow Empress and Wang Dong’er, while Gu Yuena considered whether he could help the Soul Beast Clan. As Snow Empress’s feelings for Lu Jing came to light, Wang Dong’er accepted sharing their life, leaving Snow Empress poised to speak with Lu Jing.

• Lu Jing refused to support Gu Yuena’s cause without something valuable in return, then left the Life Space after Snow Empress’s arrival prompted Di Tian to report the danger.
• Lu Jing reunited with Snow Empress at the Lake of Life and returned to Heaven Dou City, where Wang Dong’er rushed into his arms.
• Gu Yuena ordered Di Tian to investigate what Lu Jing valued, while Lu Jing told his companions he would consider helping the Silver Dragon King only for a tangible reward.
• Qian Renxue urged Snow Empress to consider ascending to the God Realm with Lu Jing, and Snow Empress grew confused about her feelings and future.
