Shrek Academy is regarded as the foremost Soul Master academy on the Douluo Continent, with a ten-thousand-year legacy and a reputation built around the ascension of the original Shrek Seven Devils. Its stated standard is to accept “monsters,” rather than ordinary students. Academy members also view Shrek as a guardian of continental peace, though its leadership frequently prioritizes preserving the institution’s prestige and strength. 18 39 95

The Sea God Pavilion serves as Shrek’s highest decision-making body. Before his death, Dragon God Douluo Mu En acted as Pavilion Master and the academy’s principal stabilizing force. His death left the academy dependent on Beibei, the Elder Council, and Radiant Mu En—an alternate Mu En who agreed to join only on the condition that he would act solely when Shrek faced an existential threat. 18

Shrek’s encounter with the mysterious river near the Star Dou Great Forest became a turning point. Elder Xuan Zi initially sought to recruit Huo Hao, believing Shrek’s cultivation indispensable to any talented Soul Master; when Huo Hao refused, Xuan Zi attempted to forcibly capture him. 6 7

Attempt to Claim the River

After the first expedition, the Elder Council considers the river a potential means of mass-producing powerful Soul Masters and Soul Beasts. It resolves that the river’s benefits “could only belong to Shrek Academy,” despite warnings about the Star Dou Great Forest and the instability of those produced by its power. 32 41

Decline and Desperation

The academy loses Mu En, Xuan Zi’s effective support, and Yan Shaozhe in rapid succession. With the Sun Moon Empire declaring war and the river producing increasingly uncontrollable threats, Elder Zhuang orders all personnel to remain on academy grounds and focus on cultivation. 66

Sea God Lake briefly offers hope when Dai Yueheng’s Martial Soul evolves into the Nether Sky Burning Tiger, prompting Qian Duoduo to consider using the lake to rebuild Shrek’s combat strength. 69

Destruction of Shrek Academy

Residual divine power from the battle near the Star Dou Great Forest ultimately overwhelms Shrek’s defenses. The Golden Tree formation fails, the Sea God statue is destroyed, academy buildings collapse, and surviving teachers and students are forced to flee. 106

During the evacuation, Qian Duoduo uses his Eighth Soul Skill, Black Dragon Imperial Sky Shield, to protect Soul Tool Department students from the gale, sacrificing his life to open a path for their escape. 107
