Pangu couldn't help but marvel at the wonders of the Great Dao. The most troublesome issue for him was how to deal with Demonic Pangu. He realized that by utilizing the method of severing the Three Corpses, he could resolve it.
However, a part of his Primordial Spirit had been separated, and though he felt he had taken a step closer to the Great Dao, he knew he had also taken a step further away from his own complete emotions.
Pangu looked at his evil corpse with a sigh. It was a man filled with wickedness, as if embodying all the evil in the world.
Though this evil corpse shared his thoughts, it never felt like himself. He couldn't understand why.
The evil corpse said, "I am you, and yet I am not you."
Pangu said calmly, "Why?"
The evil corpse replied, "You should be fortunate. I am the embodiment of all evil thoughts in this Chaos, you merely hold the dominant position."
Pangu chuckled awkwardly, "Should I be fortunate that I am not this evil?"
The evil corpse said, "You don't need to feel guilty. I am not opening the heavens for you, but for the Great Dao. Thank you for allowing me to appear, haha."
Pangu sighed, "You are destined to perish."
The evil corpse said, "Perhaps. Perhaps I will find myself again. I also need to borrow your Sky-Opening Axe for a moment." As he spoke, the evil corpse began to refine a Green Lotus.
Pangu watched all this silently. Why should he chase after unclear origins and only increase his troubles?
Demonic Pangu, holding the Sky-Opening Axe, sighed, "A good axe, but it doesn't feel right in my hand. I'll make do with it for now."
The Sky-Opening Axe let out a roar, seemingly displeased by the contempt shown towards it.
Demonic Pangu said, "Don't be unhappy. Opening the heavens is your tribulation. My weapon was scattered by the Great Dao and cannot be reformed, otherwise I wouldn't be using you. Don't give it your all, or you won't be able to preserve yourself."
The Law of Power surged around him, and a powerful 'aura' erupted.
"Roar!"
With a thunderous roar, Demonic Pangu, carrying an immeasurable kingly might, cleaved towards the Chaos before him.
"Open!!!"
An enraged roar filled with boundless dominance and fury burst from Pangu's mouth. An axe of infinite power, imbued with Pangu's understanding of the Great Dao.
As Demonic Pangu swung, the entire Chaos was rent by dazzling axe light. The Chaos itself was shattered like countless bubbles, and the Chaos Qi began to differentiate into pure Yang Qi and turbid Yin Qi. Earth, water, fire, and wind surged uncontrollably, like monstrous waves crashing about.
A Green Lotus shot out from Demonic Pangu's body, instantly stabilizing the earth, water, fire, and wind. It rapidly expanded and merged with the newly opened heaven and earth. Pangu discarded the borrowed Sky-Opening Axe.
After the heavens and earth were first opened, they were unstable. Great God Pangu held up the blue sky with his head and stood on the earth with his feet. Each day he grew one zhang taller, causing the sky to rise one zhang higher and the earth to thicken one zhang deeper. After eighteen thousand years, heaven and earth took shape. At that moment, Xuanhuang Qi descended from the heavens, intending to envelop the world.
Demonic Pangu saw that heaven and earth had taken form and Xuanhuang Qi was descending. This was the primordial essence of heaven and earth, the mother of all things, that only appeared at the beginning of creation.
"Haha," he quickly formed a series of hand seals, intending to refine this Xuanhuang Qi for his own use. A pressure immediately appeared in the world, the rules bestowed upon heaven and earth by the Great Dao. Heaven had its might, and the Dao had its might.
Under the might of heaven, Demonic Pangu began to falter. He wanted to defy the heavens, but the Great Dao gave him no such opportunity.
However, Demonic Pangu was not one to yield easily. He roared, "You are merely a part of the Great Dao, only worthy of being called the Heavenly Dao. How dare you display your might before me!"
Demonic Pangu fiercely grasped a large portion of essence from the Xuanhuang Qi. "Condense!" A Golden Halberd appeared in his hand, carved with nine dragon patterns. These were divine patterns condensed by heaven and earth itself.
Demonic Pangu twirled the Golden Halberd in his hand. A black mist floated out from his body and was absorbed by the halberd. Instantly, a monstrous aura of slaughter erupted, and the golden halberd turned crimson, as if containing a blood pool abyss, filled with the wails of millions of vengeful souls.
"Without killing intent, how can it be a divine weapon? If heaven obstructs me, I will destroy heaven. If the Heavenly Dao tries to stop me, it will be devoured, and the Heavenly Dao will become nourishment for your growth. Haha, you shall be called the Heaven Devouring Halberd."
A stream of Xuanhuang Qi drifted over, condensing into the form of Xuanhuang.
Demonic Pangu said, "Xuanhuang, are you here to stop me?"
Xuanhuang said, "I know you are unwilling to be transformed into heaven and earth, but the will of the Great Dao cannot be defied."
"Very well, then let us fight."
"If you can defeat me, I will give up. But..."
Xuanhuang beckoned, and a stream of Xuanhuang Qi immediately enveloped Pangu. A force capable of crushing his powerful body bound Demonic Pangu. This power contained not only the might of the entire world but also infinite creative power, possessing boundless vitality.
With a sigh, "The world is still empty, and all things are absent. You must fulfill your destiny."
Demonic Pangu could not resist this power and fell like a stone from the sky. Demonic Pangu let out a roar and desperately swung his halberd. However, the power that could cleave heaven and split earth was absorbed by heaven and earth. Simultaneously, a backlash was generated, shattering the Heaven Devouring Halberd and Demonic Pangu's arm.
He then fell heavily into the vast emptiness. The boundless creative power instantly enveloped him, and this creative power caused him to transform into the Primordial Era.
A sigh, "You still don't understand."
His left eye became the sun, his right eye the moon, and his hair turned into countless stars; his blood became rivers and seas, his muscles into vast plains; his body hair became grass and trees, his veins into roads; his teeth became gold and stone, his essence into pearls; his breath became wind and clouds, his voice thunder, and his sweat dew;
His head and limbs became the Five Sacred Mountains, and his spine became the pillar supporting heaven and earth, Mount Buzhou... His belly became a blood sea, tens of thousands of miles in circumference, with rolling waves of blood, where no fish or shrimp could thrive, no birds or insects could live. All the malevolent energy of heaven and earth gathered here. The beings of the Primordial Era called this place the Netherworld Blood Sea.
Demonic Pangu's soul was then enveloped by Xuanhuang Qi and flew into the depths of heaven and earth.
Pangu watched all this calmly. This was the transformation into all things. Demonic Pangu's soul, enveloped by Xuanhuang Qi, prevented his investigation. Pangu knew that deep within every heaven and earth, there existed other beings, the birthplace of all life.
At this moment, countless purple star-points shot out from the depths of heaven and earth like meteors, rapidly integrating into the world. Pangu did not know if Demonic Pangu's primordial spirit essence was among them.
Heaven and earth immediately underwent a drastic transformation. The Chaos Qi began to evolve, turning into the innate Qi of heaven and earth. This was the spiritual energy for the cultivation of all living beings in the world.
The elements of the Five Elements, wind, rain, thunder, and lightning, surged, accelerating the evolution of the Chaos Qi wherever they passed.
At this point, heaven and earth seemed to fall into silence, with only the faint sound of their breathing audible.
Pangu knew this was merely an illusion. Many powerful beings were being gestured within heaven and earth; they would be the rulers of this world. This world had just begun to evolve, awaiting their rulers to descend upon the land.
Pangu felt that this world was missing too many things, and he vaguely sensed that it would be detrimental to the development of the world, but he did not know what it was.
Pangu knew this was an opportunity. If he could comprehend the key within, he could then evolve another world and slowly approach the Great Dao he pursued.
Pangu was an observer of this land, deeply wary of the supreme Great Dao.
The Primordial Era was incomparably vast, filled with good things everywhere, all innate. Many were condensed from innate essence. Picking up any random stone might yield the essence of Geng Metal, grabbing a handful of soil would be the essence of Gen Earth (Xirang), scooping up a palmful of water would be the essence of Kui Water, and the fierce flames spewed from volcanoes were the essence of Li Fire.
This was a chaotic world. At this time, the Primordial Era was entirely the domain of savage beasts. Although most had not fully taken form, the beings in the world, even ancient gods, were mostly muddled and ignorant, not even truly considered living beings, except for a select few who were uniquely gifted. Savage beasts acted purely on instinct, like wild beasts of later ages. However, Pangu's physical body and innate primordial energy endowed them with immense power, making them even more destructive.
Years were not counted in the Primordial Era, and after an unknown amount of time, a peculiar existence was found deep within the Netherworld Blood Sea. It was a seal, sealing a terrifying entity, of course.
Ji Tian felt very scared. It was a pitch-black abyss, with millions of souls wailing beside him and millions of vengeful spirits chasing him madly. He could only feel his own weakness, just a spiritual light that flickered in and out of existence, only able to drift rapidly, running for his life to escape this terrifying abyss. Fortunately, while drifting aimlessly, he saw a light. Although it was blood-red and eerie, it was the light that ignited the courage of life.
Ji Tian curled up tightly around the strange bright light, yet felt an endless pressure lingering in his heart, as if he couldn't breathe. Ji Tian struggled, wanting to expel a knot of stagnant energy in his chest. After an unknown number of days, in the endless darkness, under endless pressure, Ji Tian strove to extend his spiritual sense, strengthening it bit by bit, solidifying it, pondering bit by bit what he truly was and where he came from. Perhaps it was heaven's favor, but his spiritual sense seemed to suddenly break through a thick barrier.
Ji Tian was astonished to discover that the eerie red barrier in front of him was gone, replaced by a broken halberd, only the Dragon-shaped Halberd Blade remained, emitting a soul-stirring sharpness.
This Dragon-shaped Halberd Blade strove to manifest its true form, a blood-red halberd. Nine golden five-clawed divine dragons coiled around its shaft, some breathing fire, some playing, some glaring angrily, each with its own form and peculiarity.
Ji Tian's gaze met that of one of the golden dragons for just an instant. A powerful spiritual sense surged into his brain. His hard-won solidified spiritual sense showed signs of collapse, leaving a deep imprint of ancient vicissitude and unyieldingness in his mind. Yet, the halberd echoed with calls from within his heart, calls so familiar, as if the halberd were a part of him.
Ji Tian unconsciously merged his spiritual sense into the halberd blade. His spiritual sense seemed to experience the Sky Opening, suddenly opening up.
Ji Tian seemed stunned, floating in space, murmuring, "So that's how it is, so that's how it is..."
