There were four types in the Sound Shell family: Sound Shells, Noise Shells (found only on the sky island of Angxing), Ultrasound Shells (found only on the sky island of Angxing), and Infrasound Shells (extinct).

There were five other types of Shells: Cloud Shells, Water Shells, Taste Shells, Image Shells, and Ice Shells (extinct).

In fact, according to the sky island intelligence collected by Lucifer, there had been as many as 37 recorded types of Sky Island Shells, but only 28 had been passed down.

The extinct types mentioned above were not actually completely extinct, as manufactured products made from those Sky Island Shells still remained.

It was simply that these shell species had died out and could no longer reproduce naturally.
