Background / History

Matilda grew up in an abusive home: her father beat, starved, and locked her outside, while her mother tried to protect her. After her father became involved with the mob, intruders murdered her father, mother, and younger brother. Matilda survived only because her father had sent her out on an errand. At age eleven, Matilda accompanies Leon in London and meets Beta, Leon's nephew and friend.
