Hua Yunxiao is the Imperial Lord and remaining leader of the Hua Clan. He states that, among the clan's direct bloodline, only he and his daughter Yan'er remain alive; the rest have perished. He attributes the clan's decline to its ancestral graves being improperly buried and becomes desperate enough to seek Su Li's help despite the taboo against disturbing ancestral remains. 13 14

He previously took in Yun Wanchu when Yun was in trouble. Hua Yunxiao describes both Yun Wanchu and Yun Yifan as abandoned children trained as household servants, tying the three men's histories to the Hua Clan. 14
