As far as Voldemort knew, the Ministry of Magic's Obliviator Headquarters employed a large number of specialists in this field.

But their targets were Muggles, not wizards.

"Who would do something like this to a wizard?"

Voldemort pondered this and raised his wand again.

"Wait."

Harlow held his head with one hand and made a stop gesture toward Voldemort with the other.

"I know you want to erase the memories we just uncovered about Dumbledore. I understand why you want to protect Dumbledore's reputation, Remus, but your Memory Charm is so poor, I think..."

"You misunderstand."

Voldemort cut him off coldly, then waved his wand.

The Legilimency Spell took effect again. This time, however, unlike before, he tried to search through Lockhart's memories on a much broader scale.

Voldemort was certain that this tampering couldn't have happened only once.

Sure enough, as he kept trying, he found more and more points where the memories had been altered.

Voldemort carefully recorded them and tried to work out where he must have been at the time by examining the memories before and after each altered point.

"The alterations are incredibly meticulous. They haven't left a single clue."

Voldemort frowned as he looked at Lockhart, who was mentally drained and no longer capable of resisting.

"Who could possibly be keeping an eye on him?"

"And what could he possibly offer them?"

Unable to find anything the altered memories had in common, Voldemort tried approaching the problem from another angle.

But Lockhart's life story was straightforward, and the memory search hadn't turned up any particularly important secrets. That only made Voldemort
