Jing Pu found it baffling. If you didn't know anything, why did you keep asking questions?
If you knew what you were talking about, fine—they could discuss it. Yun Qiyao was a monster, not a human, and Jing Pu was worried some things might be different. But you'd never even seen acupuncture before, so what were you asking for?
If you didn't trust him, then don't ask him to do it. Jing Pu really didn't want to get dragged into this mess.
The black-clad elder stared blankly at Jing Pu's words. But he quickly realized what was going on, and said awkwardly, "Senior, please, go ahead. I won't say another word."
Jing Pu couldn't be bothered to humor the black-clad elder. He took a slow breath and focused on inserting the needles.
He drove the first needle straight into the space between Yun Qiyao's eyebrows.
Everyone nearby was incredibly tense. They'd never seen anything like this before.
As soon as the first needle went in, the black-clad elder and the other black-clad men who were restraining Yun Qiyao stared in shock. What... what was this?!
The moment Jing Pu's needle pierced her skin, everyone felt an uncanny serenity, like the moon had cleared the sky and the stars had gone sparse. The strange sensation instantly calmed their jumbled minds, thrown into chaos by Yun Qiyao's sudden attack.
The wondrous feeling left everyone astonished. But once they came back to their senses, they were thrilled to see that Yun Qiyao, whom six people had struggled to hold down, had suddenly gone still.
It... it worked?!
Ling Ju and the others nearby were just as excited. Senior was incredible! What had that been?!
Jing Pu hadn't paid any attention to the people around him. After inserting the needle, he watched Yun Qiyao's reaction and let out a small sigh of relief. His theory had been right.
When Jing Pu took Yun Qiyao's pulse, he'd sensed five huge... stones inside her.
Of course, he wasn't sure if they were actually stones, or if that was even what they were called. But that was what they felt like to him.
If Jing Pu had to guess, he'd say those five huge stones were the cause of all this.
One was between her eyebrows, and the other four were in her limbs.
Jing Pu was baffled. Could someone really grow stones in their brain?
He'd heard of kidney stones, but never brain stones.
So he'd decided to try. Yun Qiyao's reaction to the first needle pleased him. It seemed to be working.
Jing Pu then took Yun Qiyao's pulse again.
This time, he examined her very carefully. Five seconds later, he raised an eyebrow, his expression turning strange.
It turned out Yun Qiyao didn't just have five huge stones inside her. There were quite a few in her chest and abdomen, too. Jing Pu was stumped. What kind of monster was Yun Qiyao? Was she some kind of monkey monster? Was she related to Sun Wukong or maybe Malphite?
Why was her whole body full of rocks?
Or, to be precise, they weren't stones. Jing Pu just didn't know what to call them, so he'd settled on that for now.
At least he'd identified the cause of the problem. And since that first needle had worked, Jing Pu inserted more. He left the ones in her chest and abdomen alone for now and focused on sealing off the five big ones.
He wasn't sure whether he could cure her, but at the very least, he could keep Yun Qiyao from getting worse. More precisely, he could keep his own courtyard from being blown to pieces.
Jing Pu began inserting the needles with utmost concentration. Watching his focused expression from nearby, Ling Ju's eyes gleamed with tender admiration.
Senior really could do anything...
Being with Senior made her feel so safe. It was as if nothing could ever go wrong...
Two minutes later, Jing Pu straightened up. As he put away his acupuncture kit, he glanced at the black-clad elder, who was still staring in a daze.
"All done."
All done?
The black-clad elder froze. That fast?
He looked at Yun Qiyao, lying motionless on the table nearby, and asked in confusion, "But, Senior... the young lady hasn't reacted at all..."
Jing Pu curled his lip and looked at him. "Can you take a dump right after you've finished eating?"
The black-clad elder fell silent.
After packing up his acupuncture kit, Jing Pu looked at the black-clad elder in front of him.
"I still don't know if I can cure her. We'll have to wait half an hour and see how she responds. But either way, you should hurry and find someone. Do whatever you did before. Yun Qiyao should be fine until you find someone."
If they insisted that Jing Pu treat her, he could. But he didn't want to. Yun Qiyao was a monster, and her symptoms were strange. He didn't dare mess around.
Besides, these people had their own way of treating her. Yun Qiyao had simply fallen ill too suddenly for them to prepare. Now that they'd stabilized her and had time, they should hurry back and find the person who'd treated her before. Jing Pu didn't want to get involved.
The black-clad elder swallowed, staring blankly at Jing Pu. "Then... Senior... how long will your needles protect the young lady?"
Jing Pu thought for a moment. "If no other symptoms appear, then like this, they should keep her safe for at least seven or eight days. If you want to extend that, I can make it ten days, half a month, or even a month. That should be enough time, right?"
People around here could fly everywhere. Surely a month was enough?
But the black-clad elder swallowed with difficulty. "I'm... afraid that won't be enough..."
Jing Pu raised an eyebrow. "I can make it two months, too. I'm just not sure if she can handle it."
The black-clad elder swallowed again and stared blankly at him. "Two months... probably won't be enough either..."
Jing Pu looked at him oddly. "Does your Cloud Monster Royal Family live in the sky or something? Two months isn't enough? How long do you need? Tell me, and I'll think of something."
The black-clad elder swallowed and looked at Jing Pu awkwardly. "About... ten years..."
Silence... awkward silence.
Ten seconds later, Jing Pu tilted his head and raised an eyebrow at the black-clad elder. "Do you think you're funny?"
Ten years?!
In just one year, Yun Qiyao would dry out here. And he was asking for ten years?
He might as well dig a hole and bury her now!
The black-clad elder looked at Jing Pu on the verge of tears. "Senior, I really wasn't making it up... The young lady's fifth-layer curse wasn't supposed to appear until ten years from now. That's why we agreed with the Upper Realm immortal who treated her before to meet again in ten years. But that immortal is traveling the world right now, and we can't find him. He won't be back until ten years from now..."
As he spoke, the black-clad elder suddenly dropped to his knees with a thump. Looking up at Jing Pu, he pleaded, "Senior... please, think of something! Help our Cloud Monster Royal Family! We have it so hard. In ten thousand years, only one super-genius with the Cloud Emperor bloodline has appeared. We absolutely can't let her die young!"
The black-clad elder had barely hit his knees when the other black-clad men nearby also dropped to the ground with a thump.
Jing Pu was at a loss for words. Just then, a faint voice came from nearby.
"Wh... what's... going on...?"
As soon as the voice rang out, everyone turned toward it. Yun Qiyao had sat up on the Ping Pong table and was looking around in confusion.
(finally, thanks to Brother Zhenyue for the 588 reward, and thanks to Wu Yan for the 100 reward. Thank you all! That's both of today's updates done~)
