Background

Xiao Ninger is the legitimate daughter of the Xiao Family, one of the seven Magnate Families. Her family intended to marry her to Shen Fei of the Sacred Family in pursuit of political favor. In the earlier course of events remembered by Nie Li, she refused the marriage, severed ties with her family, and entered the Black Demon Forest alone rather than submit. Before the City of Brilliance's destruction, she became a Silver 5-star Demon Spirit Master and, with Ye Ziyun, was known as one of the younger generation's “Twin Stars.” 4
