Confession: Raikou Arrives First

Entei healed that Houndoom because he had his own reasons.

He had always admired Pokémon willing to give everything to protect their Trainers.

Especially now that he himself was Yan Yang's Pokémon, that admiration had grown stronger, carrying a trace of identification.

After overhearing some information, he learned that Qing Mu had no intention of abandoning it. So, while punishing that group, Entei used his Sacred Fire to heal the Houndoom as well.

What an exceptionally loyal Pokémon. It was just a shame that it had chosen the wrong master.

Even if Qing Mu still possessed a shred of conscience, it would not change Entei's opinion of him. At his core, he was still an evil man who had committed countless wrongs.

But Entei had no time to think about that now. He was busy figuring out how to explain to his big idiot brother, Raikou, that he had a child.

Raikou did not know who Yan Yang was. When Suicune said that, he found it rather baffling.

However, judging by this, this human or Pokémon named Yan Yang had a very close relationship with Entei.

And Suicune knew about it too.

So the two of you had little secrets and did not tell me?

Raikou felt excluded.

He was a little angry now, the kind that would not go away unless they explained everything clearly.

Seeing Raikou like this, Entei felt somewhat helpless. This guy was still the same as before.

Still, he gave him a brief explanation of the situation.

Of course, Entei did not mention that he had become a Trainer's Pokémon. He would wait until the next time they met Ho-Oh to bring that up.

Entei planned to confess to his benefactor first. If Ho-Oh did not object, that would naturally be best. If Ho-Oh disagreed, Entei intended to leave with Yan Yang.

There were still two years until Ho-Oh's next meeting with them, so there was no rush.

Raikou was left completely stunned. He had not expected that, after all these years apart, his little brother already had a child.

He had a child!

Too bad it was a human child. Humans were so annoying. Once they grew up, they were not cute at all.

But he was still a child now, so Raikou did not mind.

He had not reached the point where he hated even human children.

Younglings naturally had no bad intentions. They were innocent and pure, exceedingly adorable.

Raikou had never played with a human child before. He was already getting a little impatient.

"You had a fun little one and did not tell me sooner? Hurry up and take me to see him! You did not even let him meet his second uncle. How could that do?" Raikou's four legs twitched eagerly, nearly carrying him off ahead of them.

The other two Sacred Beasts were rather surprised. This guy was actually looking forward to it? Were you still that big tiger who hated humans?

Still, this was a good thing. They would not have to stay on guard against him in the future.

They just did not know whether Yan Yang would be frightened when he saw him.

Raikou looked fierce and intimidating, not like the sort of Pokémon children would like.

After Entei told him the location, Raikou shot off in a flash.

As the fastest among the three of them, Raikou's running speed was absurdly fast.

Entei hurried after him. This guy had left without saying a word.

What if he scared Yan Yang?

Entei was also a little worried that Raikou might carry Yan Yang off. Raikou was only extremely fierce toward humans. When he was not being fierce, he acted like a child and loved to play.

Entei worried that Raikou would not know his own strength and accidentally play too rough with the child.

Suicune ran alongside Entei. With Tailwind boosting them, the two of them were much faster and should catch Raikou soon.

While Raikou was ahead of them, Suicune quietly spoke to Entei.

"Have you been caught by someone?"

Entei: "!"

Entei nearly stumbled while running when he heard that.

How did Suicune know?

"W-what are you talking about? How could that be?" Entei's voice was a little nervous, though he quickly composed himself. But it was already too late.

Having lived together in the past, Suicune understood Entei fairly well. From those reactions alone, Suicune knew Entei was lying.

In other words, he truly was no longer free.

Suicune knew because he had seen something similar before.

Someone had tried to catch a Meowth, but his Poké Ball had bounced away just like Entei's had. Only later did he learn that the Meowth already belonged to a Trainer.

A Pokémon that already belonged to someone else would not be accepted by another Poké Ball and would repel it.

Entei's situation was exactly the same as that time.

As for which person had managed to catch his stubborn little brother, there was no need to guess. It had to be Yan Yang, the one Entei held so dearly.

And given Entei's personality, he might not even have let Yan Yang know. He had probably done it voluntarily.

Entei knew he had been exposed and fell silent.

"Have you really thought it through?"

Entei nodded.

Suicune understood.

"Then you must protect him well." Suicune was not a narrow-minded Pokémon. Since his little brother was willing, Suicune supported him.

Entei knew Suicune would not object, and that made him feel even worse.

It felt as though he had betrayed the oath the three brothers had sworn through life and death together.

"Do not take it too much to heart. Even if you are no longer a wild Pokémon, the three of us are still good brothers." Suicune understood what Entei was thinking and offered a little comfort.

"Thank you for accepting this, Brother."

"When do you plan to confess to Lord Ho-Oh?"

"I will tell him the next time we meet."

And so, the two Pokémon gained a new little secret behind Raikou's back.

Meanwhile, inside Entei's cave.

It took Yan Yang a long time to recover from the fact that Entei had become his first Pokémon.

Entei really, truly belonged to him now?

Yan Yang wanted to cry.

He had never imagined that Entei already trusted him so much and was even willing to pay such a price.

Yan Yang had fantasized about catching Entei before, but he had never thought Entei would truly be willing.

Am I really worth this to you?

Yan Yang began to doubt himself.

He did not quite know how to face Entei anymore.

Yan Yang had always been introverted and insecure.

His personality had gradually changed after coming to the Pokémon world, but it was still ultimately influenced by the personality he had in his previous life.

He felt that he simply was not worthy of being Entei's Trainer.

Litleo noticed that something was wrong with his Trainer and began biting Yan Yang's pant leg, tugging at it.

Yan Yang snapped out of it.

"Sorry, Yan Bao. I made you worry."

Seeing that Yan Yang was fine, Litleo relaxed greatly and happily wagged his tail, even though he was clearly not a dog-like Pokémon.

Yan Yang took out another Poké Ball and steadied his emotions again. "That one did not count. Let's do it again."

Litleo looked full of anticipation.

"Yan Bao, are you willing to become my Pokémon?"

Litleo nodded.

Yan Yang threw the Poké Ball.

This time, nothing unexpected happened.

The Poké Ball shook twice, then let out a ding. That meant the capture had succeeded.

Yan Yang carefully picked up the Poké Ball and struck a pose like in the anime.

"I caught Litleo!"

All right, that was enough cringe. Yan Yang released Litleo again. He was still a little dizzy, perhaps because it was his first time entering a Poké Ball and he had not adjusted yet.

Yan Yang felt that an additional connection had formed between them.

It was a subtle feeling, but a comfortable one. Was this a bond?

After thinking for a while, Yan Yang resumed playing with Litleo. After all, there really was nothing else to do. Besides, children just needed to play more, right?

He wondered when Entei would return. If Entei came back, how was he supposed to face him?

Should he pretend he did not know?

Forget it. He would wait until Entei returned.

He did not know how much time had passed when footsteps sounded outside, the footsteps of a four-legged creature.

Had Entei returned so quickly? It was already so dark. Entei should be the only one who would come here.

Although Yan Yang was puzzled, he quickly left the cave to welcome him.

But the one before him was not the familiar Entei. It was a large yellow tiger, staring at him with bright, piercing eyes.
