Pokémon Dimension: Starting by Fooling Groudon

The two Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon had already met the four little companions.

As Su Yi's Starter Pokémon, Frogadier naturally had to set a good example.

It had already eaten its fill, but there were still some Energy Cubes left. It looked at Larvitar and Beldum, then handed its own Energy Cubes to Beldum.

"Beldum, Beldum..."

Beldum looked at Frogadier and shook its head awkwardly.

"Frogadier?"

Frogadier felt a little hurt.

"Haha, Frogadier, you don't have to do that. Beldum appreciates it too, but it's a little different from the rest of you. Its food isn't the same as yours."

Su Yi laughed when he saw this.

He patted Frogadier.

Beldum still needed to regularly absorb the magnetic force of lodestones. It liked that stuff.

As for Energy Cubes, Su Yi had prepared premium Steel-type Energy Cubes for it.

"Eat as much as you like. You're still growing, especially you two, Larvitar and Beldum."

Su Yi stayed in the dormitory for a while longer. Once all six Pokémon had finished eating, he got up, recalled them, and prepared to take a look around the teaching buildings.

After all, he had come to study at Jingtian Academy. Even though there was little the academy could teach him, he could still look around and see if there were any strong students he could challenge.

He had just left the dormitory area and entered the teaching building grounds when a commotion broke out ahead.

"Get out of the way! Rhyhorn's gone berserk!"

"Stop it! Poliwhirl, use Water Gun!"

"It won't work! This Rhyhorn is high-level. Poliwhirl's Water Gun will only make it even more agitated!"

!!!

"Rhyhorn!!!"

A particularly burly Rhyhorn charged through the crowd ahead. The academy's security team had already arrived, but with so many other students in the way, their Pokémon couldn't safely step in.

Rhyhorn burst through the crowd and charged toward the teaching buildings.

A frenzied Rhyhorn would charge into anything that stood in its way!

Su Yi was standing between Rhyhorn and the teaching buildings!

It was charging straight at him!

"Student! Get out of the way!"

A teacher from the security team suddenly shouted.

"Frogadier, use your Frothy Foam to block both sides of its head, then use Smokescreen!"

"Frogadier!"

In the blink of an eye, a blue figure flashed into view. Frogadier threw Frothy Foam from both hands, landing it on either side of Rhyhorn's head.

Then Frogadier released a cloud of smoke, which enveloped Rhyhorn.

Rhyhorn stopped charging!

"What a clever method. It blocked Rhyhorn's hearing with Frothy Foam, then used Smokescreen to interfere with its sight and sense of smell, calming it down."

"Rhyhorn must have been startled. Once its sense of smell, hearing, and sight were all affected, it actually calmed down."

The students nearby weren't stupid. Rhyhorn had simply gone berserk without warning, and they'd been caught off guard while trying to avoid getting hit.

The smoke cleared. Rhyhorn had stopped its rampage, but it was still restless, growling softly in place.

"Overcome Power!"

This was the perfect chance for Su Yi to test what Overcome Power could do!

"Calm down, Rhyhorn. Tell me what happened. I can help you."

Overcome Power let Su Yi sense Rhyhorn's feelings. It seemed to be in a lot of pain.

Rhyhorn quickly sent him a message, growling in his direction.

"Mm, mm. I understand."

It turned out that Rhyhorn had been struck by a sharp pebble during a battle demonstration. The pebble had pierced its foot.

Its body was tough, but its feet weren't like the rest of it. The pebble had pierced straight in, startling it and sending it into a frenzy.

Overcome Power let Rhyhorn sense Su Yi's goodwill, so it trusted him completely.

It willingly lifted its foot. Sure enough, a sharp pebble had pierced five or six centimeters into the middle of its sole.

"There, you're all right now."

Su Yi pulled out the pebble, while Frogadier helped remove the Frothy Foam from either side of Rhyhorn's head.

"Rhyhorn..."

Rhyhorn happily rubbed its head against Su Yi's hand.

Su Yi was pleased. Overcome Power really was convenient.

"Student, thank you... Uh... It's you! Su Yi! You're the one who solved the Eevee evolution-form question on the college entrance exam! Wonderful, I've finally met you!"

The man who walked over was in his sixties, but he was full of energy, with bright eyes and none of the frailty of old age.

His name was Du Chen, and he was a Pokémon research doctor at Jingtian Academy!

He was a leading authority in the field of Pokémon evolution research.

He taught just one class a week at Jingtian Academy, instructing students on all sorts of topics related to Pokémon evolution.

The Alliance Headquarters had used the supplementary question about inferring Eevee's evolution forms, proposed by Du Chen, for this year's college entrance exam.

There was no official answer to the question.

Yet Su Yi had actually solved it!

He had cracked a problem that had stumped Du Chen for a long time.

Du Chen had been thinking about Su Yi ever since. He had finally waited for Jingtian Academy to open, only to find that Su Yi wasn't there on the first day.

But fortunately, he had still managed to meet him.

Overcome with excitement, Du Chen grabbed Su Yi's hand.

The old man was genuinely obsessed with researching Pokémon evolution.

"So it's Su Yi. No wonder he's so impressive. I was wondering who could be that good."

"I could've done it too. I just panicked at the time."

"Easy to say. He actually did it."

"A master is a master!"

Du Chen's words stirred up a commotion among the students in his class.

No wonder he was so impressive.

"Student Su Yi, please, you must explain this to me. I'm research doctor Du Chen. There are still a few things I don't understand about Eevee evolving into the Sun Pokémon and Moon Pokémon, the names you gave them..."

Du Chen grabbed Su Yi and tried to lead him away, but Su Yi didn't have time to explain.

"Um, sir, you can read my Pokémon Research Summary when it's ready. I'll explain everything in detail there. I don't have time right now."

Su Yi politely declined Du Chen's enthusiasm. Du Chen paused, then understood. He'd been treating the young man as if he were himself. Su Yi was a student at Jingtian Academy now, after all, and naturally had his own plans.

"You're already preparing your Pokémon Research Summary?"

Su Yi felt that if he kept talking with research doctor Du Chen, he'd attract even more attention. The doctor's enthusiasm was overwhelming. He couldn't take it.

He went straight to Gu Yuanfang and told him what had happened. After listening, Gu Yuanfang laughed heartily. "Doctor Du Chen is one of the most senior researchers at Jingtian Academy. He thinks very highly of you. Other people would love to be in your shoes!"

This Persian was his Starter Pokémon. It kept him company even while he worked.

Persian seemed to enjoy Gu Yuanfang's touch, letting out a comfortable cry.

It even rubbed its head hard against his palm.

"Help me apply for a Gym Badge challenge evaluation. I'll start challenging Gyms after the Class Battle Competition at the end of the month."

"Pfft! What did you say? Su Yi, most Gym challenges are for advanced-level trainers. Are you sure you'll start at the end of the month?!"

Gu Yuanfang spat out the tea he hadn't even swallowed, staring at Su Yi in shock.

A lot of people aren't happy with the lower, middle, and upper peak levels. To be honest, I'm not entirely satisfied with them either, but at the time I couldn't think of better names for the ranks...

Here's what we'll do: we'll drop the lower, middle, and upper ranks. From Lv. 70 to Lv. 99, trainers will simply be called Peak Trainers, without lower, middle, or upper distinctions. We'll divide them into first-stage peak, second-stage peak, and third-stage peak, corresponding to a Pokémon's first-stage evolution, second-stage evolution, and Mega Evolution.

Also, only the trainers themselves will know which stage they're at. The Alliance certification test will use just one general title: Peak Trainer.

That way, people can simply be called Peak Trainers. We won't have awkward titles like "first-stage Peak Trainer."

If everyone's still unhappy with this, I'm afraid I don't have any better ideas. Peak Trainer has already appeared in the story, so there's no changing it now.

I hope everyone will be understanding. This is my first time writing a modern Pokémon story, and there's a lot I don't know.

Writing this book has me on edge. Everyone knows the reason: it's the storyline involving Murong Qianjin.

The criticism in the comment section really got to me. It's my fault, too. This is my first time writing a modern Pokémon story. I used to write stories about Pokémon in anime worlds.

Only after I started writing this did I realize that modern Pokémon stories are much harder to write than stories set in anime worlds!

I don't know why, but fewer and fewer authors seem to be writing Pokémon fan fiction on Feilu these days. I'm sure you've all noticed.

New books are being added, but now there's only a new Pokémon fanfic every few days.

Maybe the authors have grown up. Maybe they've switched to other genres.

Or maybe, for one reason or another, they couldn't keep going.

Whatever the case, I'll probably keep writing Pokémon fan fiction from now on.

This book got off to a great start.

Then, a couple of days ago, the numbers suddenly dropped a lot.

I don't know what happened. I don't know how many readers are still reading, let alone how many are willing to take pity on an author who can't afford to eat and subscribe.
