Zheng Zha nodded, but before he could speak, Zhang Jie laughed. "Not bad. You're all pretty capable. The four of us survived the last Horror Movie. I've made it through four Horror Movies, while the other three have survived one each. But it looks like we made a mistake. We should've exchanged for some heavy weapons with limited ammunition first. Consumables are cheap to exchange for, anyway."
Next, Zhan Lan carefully explained that after completing a mission, everyone would return to the Main God's space, and went over the different categories of items available for exchange. When she'd finished, a smile appeared on her face. It seemed she'd already received those hundred Reward Points.
Chu Xuan adjusted his glasses and asked curiously, "But why is he the strongest of the four of you?" As he spoke, he looked directly at Zheng Zha. In fact, Zero Point and Overlord had also been watching Zheng Zha closely; they just hadn't said anything.
Zheng Zha smiled. "There's no harm in telling you. Every time you survive a Horror Movie, you get a thousand Reward Points. That's a fixed reward. On top of that, the Main God issues missions during the Horror Movie. Completing them earns you Side Story points and additional Reward Points. Check your watches. They show this Horror Movie's mission, along with the rewards for completing it."
"I completed a mission in the last Horror Movie, so I earned some extra Reward Points. After using them to strengthen myself, I ended up a little stronger than the others."
Chu Xuan seemed about to ask something else, but just then, the only door in the room slowly swung open. Everyone turned to look, but there was nothing outside.
"The Horror Movie's started!"
Zhang Jie suddenly pulled a Desert Eagle from his chest and aimed it at the doorway. But even after several minutes, there was still no one outside.
Zheng Zha and the others relaxed at the same time. Then they saw the two middle-aged men carrying briefcases brazenly head for the door. Alarmed, Zheng Zha hurriedly said, "Don't just wander out! This is your first Horror Movie. You're much more vulnerable than us, and you're in much greater danger here. If anyone's going to scout for information, it should be us."
Zero Point gave a cold laugh from beside him. "Do you think they're going out to scout for information?"
As he spoke, the two office workers—a man and a woman—also walked out. Then the three punks bolted after them like madmen. Zheng Zha only then faintly heard one of the briefcase-carrying men say, "Hey, you think we don't know what's going on? You set up some movie scene, hired a few plants, and expect to scam us? Spend a little more on production next time. Look at this shabby place—and you call yourself a professional killer? If he's a professional killer, then I'm Superman."
The two office workers murmured their agreement. The three punks said nothing, as if fleeing for their lives. They shoved past the four and ran deeper down the corridor. By the time the new arrivals had left, only four remained: Chu Xuan, Overlord Kampa.Rofski, Zero Point, and the ordinary young man who seemed a little sharp.
The young man cautiously approached them. "Can I join you? I know all this sounds unbelievable, but I'd still like to stay with you. Oh, my name is Li Shuaixi. As for my job... well, I just graduated from university and haven't started working yet. But before coming here, I watched a lot of Horror Movies and read plenty of horror stories at home. I've also read a lot of fantasy novels online and studied the myths of different countries."
Zheng Zha exchanged a glance with Zhang Jie and the others, then smiled and held out his hand to Li Shuaixi. "Welcome to the team. We might not all make it out alive, but at least we won't abandon our companions."
Zhang Jie put his pistol back inside his coat, then asked, "What should we do next? We can't just stay here forever, can we?"
"Information!"
Zhan Lan and Chu Xuan said at the same time. They exchanged a smile, and Chu Xuan waved a hand. "You go ahead. My strength is in analysis. I'm really not confident when it comes to planning."
Zhan Lan rubbed her forehead and smiled. "Hehe, I'm a writer, so planning is what I'm most confident in. But please, everyone, speak up if you think something's wrong."
"Before you woke up, the four of us analyzed the situation. To be honest, Alien One isn't that difficult. There's only ever one Alien throughout the movie. If we judge it purely by the difficulty of surviving the Horror Movie, it might even be easier than Resident Evil 1. They're both science-fiction Horror Movies that can be explained with modern technology. But why were there only seven people in Resident Evil 1, while this Horror Movie has fifteen? We think the plot has changed, and the Main God raised the difficulty accordingly."
Chu Xuan nodded. "Resident Evil 1? If we're comparing the two, the Lickers in Resident Evil 1 aren't actually any weaker than the Alien, and there are far more of them. I think your theory is sound. Alien One definitely shouldn't be harder to survive than Resident Evil 1. If the Horror Movie's plot has changed, what do you think we should do now?"
"Information!" Zhan Lan replied firmly. "We need to find out how much the plot has changed and why the difficulty has increased so much. And you can't tell how powerful the Alien is just from the movie. We have to face it in person to learn its speed, strength, and other abilities. Only then can we decide how to kill it."
Zheng Zha saw Chu Xuan nod, while Zero Point and Overlord had no objections. He nodded too. "Then let's explore this ship. It'd be best if we run into some characters from the movie. If we encounter the Alien, I'll fight it. Zhang Jie's Desert Eagle has unlimited ammunition, so if possible, Zero Point can provide covering fire. If I use my Internal Force, I should at least be able to escape, no matter what."
Just then, several screams came from the other end of the corridor. They sounded like they came from the two middle-aged men and the office workers. The eight people in the room exchanged glances, then all ran toward the screams. Apart from the four whose bodies had already been strengthened, Chu Xuan, Zero Point, and Overlord were all astonishingly fit; as they ran, they even kept pace with Zheng Zha and the others. Only the young man was soon left far behind, panting hard.
Zheng Zha looked back and sighed, then ran over, grabbed the young man by the arm, and brought him along in the middle of the group. Even so, the young man still looked utterly exhausted.
The screams had come from a hall of several dozen square meters. The two middle-aged men and the two office workers had collapsed on the floor, screaming in terror. Opposite them lay three bodies, sprawled stiffly on the ground. Zheng Zha and the others had just walked in when they saw the scene. The corpses belonged to a blonde woman, a Black man, and a White man. Their faces were twisted horribly, as though they'd suffered terribly before dying.
As soon as Zheng Zha and the others entered, the middle-aged men and the office workers ran in terror toward the corridor at the other end of the room. Zheng Zha sighed and couldn't be bothered to chase them. He simply crouched beside the bodies and examined them closely. After a few looks, his face went pale. "In Alien One... how many Aliens appeared?"
"Only one," Chu Xuan replied with certainty. "I wouldn't misremember a detail like that."
Zheng Zha rose to his feet, his face pale. Each of the three bodies had a deep, bloody hole in its chest. That meant an Alien embryo had burst out through their chests. One of them also had a huge hole in its abdomen, as if an Alien embryo several times larger had crawled out. Just imagining an Alien that size was terrifying.
"Then soon we'll be facing three Aliens... or even more, and larger ones."
