Background

Before entering the Main God's space, Zheng Zha was a dissatisfied office worker who felt that his life consisted only of work, routine, and eventual obscurity. Seeking meaning and a chance to “truly live,” he selected “yes” on a mysterious computer prompt and lost consciousness. He awakened aboard a train bound for the Resident Evil scenario. 1

Zheng Zha's childhood sweetheart, Loli, had died at sixteen. After surviving Resident Evil, he used the Main God's free first creation to recreate her from his memories. The Main God confirms that her memories, appearance, and personality originate from Zheng Zha's recollection, but that she is a genuinely living being unless Zheng Zha dies or she is killed. 9 10

His determination to survive is largely tied to his promise to bring Loli safely back to the real world. When he learns created life forms can be retained through “Return to Origin,” he commits himself to surviving the Horror Movies rather than losing her again. 10

Appearance

Zheng Zha is initially described as ordinarily handsome. Following his Qigong and Vampire Bloodline enhancements, others perceive a subtle “demonic beauty” in his appearance, though he retains a human form. 11

Personality

Zheng Zha begins as a disillusioned man desperate for a meaningful life, but the Horror Movie trials turn that desire into a fierce will to survive. He is frightened by monsters and death rather than fearless; after fleeing from the Aliens that kill Li Xiaoyi, he is consumed by guilt for failing to keep his promise not to abandon a companion. 1 20

He values trust and mutual protection more than cold calculations. This puts him directly at odds with Chu Xuan, whose survival plans accept sacrificing teammates with low odds of survival. Zheng Zha accepts that not everyone can be protected, but insists that anyone he recognizes as a partner will not be abandoned. 29 30

His compassion can make him impulsive. He repeatedly risks himself to save Zhan Lan, Zhang Jie, and even Chu Xuan's group after splitting from them; however, he can become violently vindictive when those he loves are threatened, as shown when Chu Xuan's locator leads to Loli being shot and Zheng Zha nearly kills him. 33 34 50

*Resident Evil* Trial

Zheng Zha enters the Hive as a newcomer and survives the laser corridor by relying on his knowledge of the film's plot. Completing the B-rank side story earns him 5,000 Reward Points, which later fund his first major enhancements. 4 9

After returning to the Main God's space, he creates Loli, confirms her status as a living being, and exchanges for Qigong, a Vampire Mutation Bloodline, and the Na ring. 9 10 11

*Alien* Trial

During the Alien scenario, Zheng Zha becomes one of the group's central combatants. Li Xiaoyi's death challenges his self-image as someone who never abandons comrades, while saving Zhan Lan triggers his first Gene Lock activation. 20 22 23

He breaks with Chu Xuan after Li Shuaixi is used as part of a decoy plan, choosing to lead Zhang Jie and Zhan Lan according to his own principle of reciprocal trust. Despite this split, he later goes to assist Chu Xuan's group against the Aliens. 29 30 33

Zheng Zha is the decisive fighter against the Alien Queen. Although he suffers fatal injuries—including the loss of his limbs and lower body—he uses a Spiral Thorn bomb to destroy the Queen's head and is restored by the Main God. 39 40 41

Return to the Real World

Zheng Zha volunteers to spend thirty days in the real world with Loli, both to test whether their powers and equipment remain real and to provide for their families with platinum stored in Na. 45 46

On the final day, the National Security Bureau arrests him over Chu Xuan's disappearance. Zheng Zha escapes using his enhanced body, Na, and the high-vibration dagger, but Loli is shot during the pursuit. He reaches the Main God's return point in time, where Loli is healed. 48 49 50

Zheng Zha discovers that Chu Xuan had attached a locator to his dagger, enabling the Bureau to find him. Enraged by the danger this caused Loli and his family, Zheng Zha attacks Chu Xuan and ends their alliance. 50
