Background / History

Witch-Demon Calamity

During the late Witch-Demon Calamity, the Six Sages had only recently attained sainthood, while the Human Race had migrated collectively to the eastern region. Human tribes such as the Taihao Tribe survived in precarious conditions, with the Demon Race treating humans as food 1.

The Witch-Demon War ended with the destruction of both major factions. The Twelve Ancestral Witches, Di Jun, Donghuang Taiyi, and innumerable members of both races perished in the Measure Tribulation 99.

Collapse of Buzhou Mountain

After surviving the war, Gonggong struck Buzhou Mountain in grief and rage, breaking the celestial pillar at its waist. The resulting Sky Cave brought Chaos Qi, catastrophic floods, and Chaos Ferocious Beasts into the Primordial World; heaven and earth began to converge toward Chaos 99.

The Six Sages acted to prevent total collapse. Laozi stabilized the sky, Tongtian Cult Master blocked the invading beasts, Primordial Heavenly Venerate halted the convergence of heaven and earth, Zhunti and Jieyin hunted scattered beasts, and Nuwa prepared to seal the Sky Cave 99 103.

Li Qingxu guided the North Sea Black Tortoise to willingly offer its body to support the Four Poles. Its four limbs became heaven-supporting pillars, calming Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind, while Nuwa sealed the Sky Cave with Five-Colored Divine Liquid 101 103.

Human Race Ascendancy

Dao Ancestor Hongjun declared that the Human Race would become the new protagonist of heaven and earth. The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors were designated to guide humanity from scattered tribes into a civilization of great fortune and merit 126.

Li Qingxu created and transmitted the Dao One Golden Chapter, a cultivation method tailored to the Human Race that could lead practitioners to the Golden Immortal realm. Its spread strengthened humanity's ability to survive and cultivate independently 95 96.

Under successive Human Emperors, humanity expanded across the Primordial Land, developed agriculture and medicine, defeated the resurgent Witch Clan, controlled the great flood, and formally declared itself the Lord of Heaven and Earth 133 134 165 174.

Investiture of the Gods Tribulation

The Investiture of the Gods Tribulation threatened to overturn the established order of the Primordial World. The Investiture of the Gods contained 365 primary divine positions, as well as positions for heavenly soldiers and earthly deities; the tribulation could not end until these vacancies were filled 190 224.

Following the conflict between Great Shang, West Qi, the Chan Sect, Jie Sect, Wa Huang Palace, and the Western Sect, Chan and Jie disciples cooperated to fill the Investiture and end the Measure Tribulation. They subsequently purged Western Sect influence from both the eastern and western regions 290 293.

The end of the tribulation restored relative peace. Di Xin reformed Great Shang's feudal order, while Li Qingxu suppressed the Western Sect and prevented its evolution into Buddhism 296.

Laws and Spiritual Environment

• Complete Laws of Heaven and Earth — The Primordial World's laws are more complete and profound than those of the worlds visited through the Myriad Worlds Chat Group, allowing outsiders to gain insight and break existing limitations 238.
