Waking up to find yourself transmigrated into the world of Naruto, what kind of feeling would that be?
Others might not know, but Kyosuke found it incredibly frustrating.
It was one thing to transmigrate to the Naruto world and live a leisurely life in Konoha, perhaps fishing or charming the original characters' beauties. Life couldn't be more comfortable.
But transmigrating to the Warring States period? What kind of nonsense was that?
Clutching his aching head, Kyosuke staggered to the mirror. Looking at the exceptionally delicate face staring back, he couldn't help but let out a wry smile.
The Warring States period, truly the darkest era in ninja history.
The great clans slaughtered each other for profit, and it wasn't uncommon for five or six-year-old children to be found on the battlefield.
Take the boy named "Uchiha Kyosuke" in the mirror, for instance. At just seven years old, he was already being sent on behind-the-lines assassination missions.
"It's utterly inhumane," Kyosuke sighed softly.
Transmigrating as a descendant of Indra, his life was destined to be anything but peaceful. Fortunately, Kyosuke's will was strong, and he quickly adjusted his mindset.
Compared to the issue of his identity, he was more concerned about one thing right now.
The reflection in the mirror, his eyes were shining with an ominous crimson light.
Sharingan!
"To awaken the Sharingan at seven years old... they'd probably die of shock if this got out."
This wasn't like the Konoha era, where Itachi Uchiha awakened his at eight, and Sasuke, even younger, at seven.
It seemed like no big deal.
However, ordinary Uchiha members typically wouldn't awaken their kekkei genkai until they were at least sixteen or seventeen.
Madara-sama himself awakened his at fifteen in the original story and was already hailed as a rare genius.
Kyosuke knew very well that if this news spread, he would immediately shed his cannon fodder fate and receive vigorous training from within the clan.
Yet, such astonishing talent would also invite hostility.
Those forces hostile to the Uchiha clan wouldn't stand idly by and watch him develop healthily; assassination would be inevitable.
Moreover, with Black Zetsu lurking in the shadows, a cunning old schemer, if he were to notice Kyosuke, the young child would have no way to cope.
"I'll keep it hidden for now. Uchiha Tajima isn't exactly a magnanimous person."
Tajima, the current head of the Uchiha clan, Madara and Izuna's biological father.
He had a dark personality, was deeply calculating, and was a true warlord.
Geniuses were always welcome, but there was a limit to everything.
If Uchiha Tajima believed Kyosuke's existence threatened his two sons, his fate would likely be grim.
"The awakening of the Sharingan is most likely the result of soul fusion."
"I can feel my spiritual power strengthening almost every moment."
"In short, if I can lie low, I'll have a chance to turn things around in the future."
Donning the lightweight armor typical of the Warring States period and adjusting the ninja tool pouch at his waist, Kyosuke lifted the tent flap and strode out.
This area was located in the southern part of the Land of Fire, the territory of clans like the Nara, Akimichi, and Yamanaka.
These clans had always been on good terms with the Senju. With the war at a critical juncture, Tajima, unwilling to take any chances, had dispatched a large number of troops to guard against sneak attacks from these three clans.
Arriving at the rendezvous point at a leisurely pace, Kyosuke maintained his persona of being taciturn. On the surface, he seemed casual, but in reality, he was quietly observing his surroundings.
On a platform, a Jonin from the Southern Legion was explaining the mission.
"According to intelligence, the three clans are secretly relocating their members. The Clan Head suspects they are preparing to defect to the Senju clan."
"For the glory of the Uchiha, we must stop the enemy!"
"Oh!!!"
Echoing the cheers of the others symbolically, Kyosuke fell into thought.
His memory told him that the Jonin's name was "Hikari," a direct subordinate of Uchiha Tajima.
The Southern Legion was currently under the command of an elder named "Uchiha Rei," a man of extraordinary strength who had always harbored ambitions for the Clan Head position.
"Perhaps I can make some use of this," Kyosuke mused after a moment of silence, beginning to consider the upcoming mission.
Despite how righteous "Uchiha Hikari" sounded, the mission was essentially to eliminate the enemy's elderly, weak, women, and children.
Without future generations, a large-scale talent gap would be a devastating blow to any clan.
The talk of relocating and attempting to join the Senju clan was all just rhetoric to stir up morale.
What would happen in the future was another matter, but at least for now, the three clans were the true prominent families of the Land of Fire.
With a large population and formidable fighting strength, they wouldn't have needed the Southern Legion otherwise.
Under such circumstances, only a fool would choose to join the Senju.
The Uchiha were the embodiment of evil, but did they really think the Senju were any better?
However, Kyosuke had underestimated the ignorance of his clansmen.
The contorted, hideous faces around him, along with the ceaseless curses, constantly reminded him that the Uchiha clan truly suffered from widespread cerebral palsy.
"Paranoids are terrifying," Kyosuke shook his head, a bad premonition gradually rising in his heart.
Setting aside the Yamanaka and Akimichi for now, the Nara were a clan that specifically produced wise men.
Were they fools? When it came to the continuation of their clan, could they let the Uchiha succeed so easily?
At this very moment, two words kept swirling in little Kyosuke's mind.
A trap!
"What should I do, directly step forward and offer advice?"
He dismissed the thought after a moment's consideration, "These are not things a seven-year-old child should be aware of."
"If I really speak my mind, I'll surely be subjected to an interrogation and torture."
After struggling with the dilemma for a long time, Kyosuke could only come up with a less-than-ideal plan.
If things really couldn't be done, he would simply escape the clan's control, leave the Land of Fire, and seek survival in other countries.
"The Land of Earth is a good choice; even in later years, he can hold a place in the realm of the strong."
"Forget the Land of Water; the level of chaos there is even more terrifying than in the Land of Fire."
Kyosuke, full of thoughts of defection, soon discovered that the situation was somewhat different from what he had anticipated.
On the southern battlefield, facing the Uchiha's intensifying threats, the Nara clan decided to secretly transfer their clan members.
To prevent spy infiltration, the Nara specifically set off several smoke bombs, intending to confuse the enemy while also setting a trap for them.
If that old geezer Uchiha Rei got too worked up, they might even be able to take this opportunity to end the war.
However, the Nara never expected that a plan known only to a few high-ranking members would actually encounter an accident.
By the time the three Clan Heads received the news, the southern army's forces were already closing in on the transport team.
"Quick, reinforce them at all costs!" the Akimichi Clan Head's furious roar echoed through the encampment.
On the other side, Uchiha Kyosuke was truly bewildered.
It wasn't because they had fallen for the trap; quite the opposite, the entire mission had progressed incredibly smoothly.
The feeling was as if the other party had actively delivered themselves to their doorstep.
The bizarre development gave him a chilling sensation, as if an invisible, powerful hand was manipulating the entire affair from behind the scenes.
Suppressing the unease in his heart, Kyosuke looked at the group of trembling women and children before him and fell into deep thought.
To kill or not to kill?
