Minamoto Takuya's lips curled upward. He did not doubt that Nagato would still cooperate with Obito Uchiha in the future, but the thought that they would probably find it difficult to reconcile later made him want to laugh.
At that moment, he weighed the kunai in his hand and spoke.
"The ninjutsu you used to evade my kunai just now was Time-Space Ninjutsu, wasn't it? That's quite a rare thing. If possible, could you teach it to me? If you can, I can collect one less special creature."
"Impossible!"
Obito Uchiha said directly, "This is not a ninjutsu you can learn."
Minamoto Takuya naturally knew it was impossible. He merely wanted to flesh out the persona he had come up with on a whim, so he said it casually.
"Then that's a bit of a shame. Are you trying to stop me from obtaining that strange creature called the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path?" Minamoto Takuya asked.
"This is not something you can covet." Obito Uchiha snorted coldly again.
"Tsk tsk, that remains to be seen. Don't think that just because you know Time-Space Ninjutsu, you can stop me!" Minamoto Takuya narrowed his eyes. Though he said that, he was extremely wary inside.
Kamui was not an ability that was easy to counter. Even Water Release—Water Blade Rotation Technique could not be maintained at all times.
He felt somewhat regretful. He had not yet reached the point where he could use Lightning Release to accelerate his reactions. Otherwise, even without any other backup plans against Obito Uchiha, things would have been much easier.
On the other side, Nagato listened to their conversation and could not help glancing at Obito Uchiha.
When Nagato heard Time-Space Ninjutsu, he understood. No wonder his Rinnegan had twice failed to detect even the slightest trace of the other party. He had only noticed him when he appeared of his own accord.
So he had been hiding in a time-space dimension before appearing!
His expression turned somewhat strange.
Why did it feel like the other party's goal was also the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path?
Before this had happened, he had never even considered summoning the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. How had these two learned of it?
If Minamoto Takuya had discovered it through secret observation, then Obito Uchiha had approached them long ago...
Had this all been planned by him in advance?
As Nagato considered this, his wariness of Obito Uchiha deepened. While Minamoto Takuya and Obito Uchiha confronted each other, Konan fed him quite a few Ration Pills to restore his chakra.
Minamoto Takuya looked at Obito Uchiha, pulled several shuriken from his ninja tool pouch, and threw them at him. Then, he formed seals with one hand.
"Ninja Art—Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique!"
In an instant, the few shuriken transformed into countless shuriken, shooting toward Obito Uchiha like a sky full of stars.
"Useless." Obito Uchiha watched the countless shuriken fly toward him and spoke. He had no intention of dodging. The shuriken passed straight through his body and struck the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path behind him.
"Tsk, what troublesome Time-Space Ninjutsu." Minamoto Takuya clicked his tongue. He knew Kamui could not be maintained indefinitely, but the problem was that he had no way to sustain a continuous barrage of attacks, like Konan's one billion Explosive Tag detonations without a single gap.
Even if there were more shuriken created by the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique, there would still be gaps. The other party could certainly take the opportunity to materialize, but he could not tell whether his opponent was currently tangible.
So, for now, he could not exploit Kamui's weakness of being unable to stay active forever.
"Your attacks have no effect on me. Are you still not giving up?" Obito Uchiha wanted to make him retreat.
Just as Minamoto Takuya had no good way of dealing with him, he also found Minamoto Takuya rather troublesome.
To use Kamui, he had to touch the other party's body, but that ninjutsu of his gave him no opportunity to do so. Besides that, he did not currently possess many ninjutsu capable of dealing with Minamoto Takuya.
After all, until recently, he had only been a Chunin—and a dead last at that. Even if he had recently made up for some shortcomings, he could not possibly fill every gap overnight.
At this moment, he somewhat regretted separating from White Zetsu after his body had healed. Otherwise, White Zetsu's Wood Release might have offered more of an opening. Even if he could not kill the other party, he would not be in such a passive position.
As for now, he did not want White Zetsu to appear. He himself had already been exposed. White Zetsu and Black Zetsu were better off remaining hidden in the shadows rather than revealing their deep connection to him in front of Nagato.
"Can your Time-Space Ninjutsu remain active forever? Your chakra probably isn't enough, is it?" Minamoto Takuya asked.
"Who knows?" Obito Uchiha said casually. He slowly sat atop the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, looking down at him from above.
"Tsk, I don't believe Time-Space Ninjutsu comes that cheaply." Minamoto Takuya formed seals with both hands. Since physical attacks would not work, he would use ninjutsu instead.
"Water Release—Water Torrent!"
"Earth Release—Rock Avalanche!"
"Lightning Release—Chisui!"
Countless ninjutsu poured from Minamoto Takuya's hands, but without exception, every one of them passed through the other party's body, achieving not the slightest effect.
Such hopeless attacks were truly tormenting.
Obito Uchiha occasionally used some Fire Style ninjutsu as though a cat toying with a mouse, but Minamoto Takuya dodged them easily as well.
Yet Minamoto Takuya had to dodge Obito Uchiha's attacks, while Obito Uchiha did not even need to move for Minamoto Takuya's attacks. Who held the upper hand was obvious at a glance!
At least, Konan watched the scene in astonishment. The Masked Man she had so easily captured could not injure the other Masked Man at all?
Though he was using Time-Space Ninjutsu to evade, the result of being completely helpless against his opponent was enough to make one despair.
He should give up, right?
Konan thought that if he kept this up, his chakra would soon run dry. When that happened, Obito Uchiha would definitely seize the chance to put Minamoto Takuya to death!
Obito Uchiha thought the same. He was draining Minamoto Takuya's chakra, occasionally mocking him aloud and provoking him into using even more ninjutsu against him.
The "provoked" Minamoto Takuya said nothing, only continuing to use ninjutsu.
What an idiot, Obito Uchiha thought. Looking at it this way, there seemed to be an explanation for why he had directly let Konan go earlier.
At that moment, powerful chakra erupted from Minamoto Takuya once more.
"He still has this much chakra? But this should be his last reserves, right?" Obito Uchiha did not know that Minamoto Takuya possessed the Uzumaki Bloodline. He merely calculated that, even for a Jonin, after using this many ninjutsu, he should be nearing the end of the road.
He narrowed his eyes. His body within Kamui Space tensed as he prepared to finish the other party the instant his chakra was nearly exhausted!
"Wind Release—Vacuum Serial Waves!"
