The Chakra Heart

The amount of chakra that had been troubling him was finally taken care of. In just a few seconds, he had absorbed all the chakra inside the little pig. His total chakra reserves now far exceeded those of an ordinary Chunin.

And after he absorbed the little pig's chakra, it began producing chakra again. Blue chakra was born anew inside its body.

"This is basically an automatic chakra production device—or rather, biological technology. As long as it has an energy supply, it can refine chakra without limit," Yu said excitedly.

"It's like a chakra... heart."

Looking at the little pig in his hands, Yu had another bold idea: if he installed it inside his body, wouldn't he have an organ that could provide an endless supply of chakra? It would refine chakra on its own without any intervention from him. He'd only need to inject energy into the little pig's body.

Of course, Yu couldn't accept looking like that. He still had to care about his appearance.

He suddenly smacked himself on the head. He'd fallen into another mental blind spot.

He was a slime, and the little pig was a slime too. So shrinking and changing shape should be as easy as he pleased, shouldn't it?

After he gave the little pig the command to shrink, its body immediately began to change shape. In the end, it became a slime pig the size of an adult's fist. That was as small as it could get.

Next, Yu performed another act that sent a chill down one's spine. He plunged a sharp scalpel into his chest. With a downward slice, the blade parted his flesh as easily as cutting tofu.

Facing the mirror, Yu pried open his chest and carved out a cavity to fit the little pig.

He cut out his heart and the flesh around it, then casually tossed them aside. If anyone else had seen this, they would have been one hundred percent convinced that Yu was a demon reincarnated.

The final step was to put the little pig into the cavity in his chest and bring the edges of the wound together. He didn't even need stitches. About two minutes later, the wound on Yu's chest had healed.

And so, in just a few minutes, the body modification surgery was complete. It had been a complete success, with no rejection whatsoever.

As far as Yu was concerned, he hadn't felt any pain throughout the entire process. The only things that consumed energy were removing his heart and flesh, and healing the wound. He could replenish that energy by having a good meal later.

Yu sat cross-legged on the ground, waiting for his body to adjust to the little pig's presence. His body had such powerful shapeshifting abilities that it would adapt to the little pig on its own without any need for him to intervene.

Just then, a message appeared in his consciousness: he could devour the little pig, completely merging it with his body. He would also gain all of its abilities.

Yu thought it over but decided against it. If he devoured the little pig, he'd gain chakra reserves beyond the Chunin level, but he'd have to refine all his chakra himself from then on. Wouldn't that mean losing the little pig's greatest advantage?

Even without completely devouring it, he could already access the little pig's chakra reserves. And since the little pig could refine chakra on its own, wouldn't that give him twice the chakra?

With the little pig, he could do nothing at all and still have chakra produced endlessly. The benefits of devouring it and not devouring it were completely different.

"If I stored a few more little pigs inside my body, then once the rate of chakra production exceeded the rate of consumption, wouldn't that mean I had infinite chakra?"

This idea wasn't far-fetched at all. It was entirely possible.

"So next, I need to find a bloodline that can refine chakra quickly and have the little slimes fuse with it. Then I won't need to worry about my total chakra reserves. All that matters is that production exceeds output."

Sasuke had already gone to the Ninja Academy, so Yu was alone on the training ground.

Feeling the abundant chakra inside him made him feel especially powerful.

Yu took a deep breath as he faced the sandy ground ahead, then began forming Hand Seals.

The technique required thirty-three seals, and Yu completed them in less than eight seconds. He had his practice over this period to thank for that. Although he hadn't been able to use ninjutsu, he had never let up on practicing Hand Seals.

As he finished the seals, his chakra underwent a mysterious change and surged out of his mouth. The next moment, he exhaled, and a basketball-sized fireball shot from his mouth toward the target ahead.

"Boom..."

The fireball struck the wooden target with a dull thud. The specially made target wasn't destroyed by Yu's attack, but the considerable force of the fireball's impact was plain to see.

Yu walked over and touched the target. He could clearly feel how hot it was.

"If that fireball hit an ordinary person, they'd either die or be crippled," Yu remarked.

Although the Great Fireball Technique was only a C-rank ninjutsu, it was a Fire Release Ninjutsu unique to the Uchiha clan. Its power was formidable, and it had great potential for growth.

In the anime's scenes of the Shinobi World War, Madara Uchiha's Great Fireball Technique was almost on par with S-rank ninjutsu.

So naturally, Yu had to learn this technique. This was also his first time using the Great Fireball Technique. It couldn't compare to the work of a powerhouse like Madara Uchiha, but the results were still good.

This was the only offensive ninjutsu he knew at the moment. It wasn't that he couldn't learn more; he simply didn't want to. Learning too many techniques without mastering them would keep him from unleashing their true power. He wanted to master one technique before considering any others.
