Kakashi's Goddess

Yu's part had ended, but Team 7's hadn't.

"Teacher Kakashi said we couldn't get too far apart! How are we supposed to pass the test if you keep doing this?" Naruto shouted at the streamside woods, now reduced to a field of ruins.

Snow Charm stood on Naruto's shoulder, her crystal-clear eyes scanning their surroundings.

"Woo... woo..."

Suddenly, Snow Charm sounded an alarm in one direction.

Red Cat, standing nearby, immediately launched a Fire Release technique toward the direction Snow Charm had indicated.

[Fire Release—Flame Jet]

A pillar of fire half a meter in diameter shot from Red Cat's mouth. Everything in its path was scorched bare, and it even gouged a black trench into the ground.

Snow Charm and Red Cat worked together flawlessly. As Slimes, they shared the same basic bloodline, which made communication between them effortless.

Red Cat's Fire Release didn't even require Hand Seals. All it had to do was use Chakra to intensify the fire energy in its bloodline, then spew it out. That made Red Cat's attacks incredibly fast.

A figure soon appeared in the path of the pillar of fire, narrowly dodging its attack.

Kakashi the Copy Ninja was known as Konoha's top technician, proficient in more than a thousand ninjutsu techniques apart from Kekkei Genkai. He could learn an opponent's technique just by seeing it once in battle, and his reputation struck fear into countless enemy shinobi.

But now, Kakashi had been driven into a corner by his own students.

"This won't work. My Chakra keeps draining, and I can't hold out much longer. If I get hit by one of those Fire Release techniques, I'm finished." Kakashi appeared in a tree, hiding his entire figure in the shade as he used a secret technique to conceal his presence.

To be honest, even with Red Cat and Snow Charm working together, Naruto and Sasuke—and even Sakura, the deadweight—were no match for Kakashi. After all, he was one of Konoha's top fighters at the moment, and he hadn't earned that reputation for nothing.

But this wasn't a real fight, just a test. Kakashi couldn't turn around and attack his own students, so all he could do was take their attacks.

"In that case, I have no choice but to use my Sharingan."

Kakashi spoke, then pushed up the protector covering his left eye. A three-tomoe Sharingan appeared in his eye.

Kakashi immediately darted out of his hiding place and looked toward Sasuke and the others with his Sharingan.

The Sharingan made his Genjutsu several times more powerful. Kakashi was confident he could trap all three students and both Ninja Beasts in it.

But the result was nothing like he'd hoped.

His Sharingan Genjutsu met Snow Charm's eyes. Genjutsu cast through the Sharingan was especially powerful when the target looked directly at it, but an even stronger wave of Genjutsu energy radiated from Snow Charm's crystal-clear eyes, enveloping Kakashi in the illusion instead.

Suddenly, the surroundings rippled like water. Snow began to fall from the sky, and a thick layer of it covered the ground.

In an instant, the place had become a frozen, snow-covered landscape.

Kakashi immediately realized he'd fallen under a Genjutsu. He disrupted the flow of Chakra within his body to break the illusion, but the scene before him remained, and he could even feel the cold.

"To think it can use Genjutsu of this level... I underestimated that fox." Kakashi stood still, not daring to move, and pushed his sensory abilities to their limit.

If he hadn't known this was only a test, he would have entered full combat mode by now.

"What is...!"

A blurry figure suddenly appeared in Kakashi's vision. Normally, he would have been on alert, but for some reason, he desperately wanted to see the figure's face.

Hearing Sasuke and Naruto, Kakashi realized they'd both misunderstood him. He'd said "No" because his goddess had disappeared.

"Ahem..."

Kakashi coughed a few times to ease the awkwardness.

"You passed the test. You did well to take the bells from me. You're ready to become real shinobi," Kakashi said solemnly.

But Sasuke stared straight into Kakashi's eyes.

"Why do you have the Sharingan?"

Sasuke spoke in an accusatory tone, and Chakra erupted from his body.

The Sharingan was the symbol of the Uchiha clan, and only members of the Uchiha clan could possess it. The Uchiha clan would slaughter anyone who dared covet the Sharingan.

In the distance, Red Cat noticed Sasuke's state, and its body became a red blur. In the next instant, it stood in front of Sasuke.
