"Come on, let's go to the internet café by the neighborhood entrance and play together."
Sun Busong had just answered the phone when his friend called him out.
"Maybe not! The pandemic's really bad these days, and I just finished downloading the single-player version of 837 Warcraft. I'm staying home."
His friend cursed at him over the phone. "You're such a coward. You're way too timid. Hurry up and change your name! From now on, you can just be Sun Really Is a Coward."
"Heh, I can play with you from home, too. Just open a room and I'll join."
"Fine. Wait for my message."
After hanging up, Busong started exploring the Warcraft game he'd just installed.
It came with instructions and solutions to common problems, so Busong soon managed to get into the game.
The opening cinematic was a must-watch. Every time he saw it, he couldn't help praising the special effects. They were seriously awesome.
Since this was a private-server version, many of its settings were almost identical to the official game.
But since it was single-player, it obviously had to include powerful equipment and the like. Otherwise, how was one person supposed to take down a boss?
He created his character: a human Warrior. Naturally, he named him Sun Busong.
Just as he was about to try the game out, his phone rang. It turned out his friend had already opened a room and was waiting for him to join.
His computer was powerful enough to run two games at once without any problems.
Sun Busong left Warcraft running in the background while he queued up with his friend. The game started soon after, and he picked Sion.
Before the rework, that hero could build either AD or AP, and whoever he caught was as good as dead. But now he'd fallen out of favor and could only be played as a jungler or a tank.
"Busong, go jungle. Do you know how to play the inting Sion build?"
"Of course I do. Who doesn't know how to feed? Haha."
At the start of the game, Sun Busong went straight to the enemy's red buff and waited. Normally, their jungler would start by killing the blue buff.
Just as he'd expected, the enemy went to kill the blue buff, so Sun Busong took the red buff and the raptors while he had the chance.
Sion's Glory in Death passive was great for clearing jungle camps. And his first skill point had gone into W, Soul Furnace, which gave him an extra 30 health from the first wave of monsters.
After his character respawned, Sun Busong didn't buy any equipment. Instead, he headed straight for his own jungle. While he had a moment, he pressed the switch key on his keyboard, intending to tab out and check on his character in Warcraft.
But right then, the inevitable finally happened.
A keyboard could leak electricity? How was that possible? Still, if getting electrocuted could send someone to another world, everyone would probably be praying for their keyboard to short out.
Cold Ridge Valley, Anweimar Fortress.
Anweimar Fortress lay within the territory governed by Ironforge. Mountains surrounded it on all sides, and they rose so high that their peaks were covered in snow year-round. Even the flight paths didn't extend this far.
The Alliance's highest-flying Gryphons couldn't reach the place, let alone the other factions. That was why it had become a new recruit training camp for the Dwarf race.
"Get up! Hurry! If you don't get up, I'll roast you on the forge!"
The thunderous shout jolted Sun Busong awake. But the instant he opened his eyes, a flood of memories surged into his mind. He'd been about to sit up, but fell back onto the bed instead.
Menethil Harbor, Sunset Marsh, his father and mother, the Murlocs, the Murloc Mage!
By the time he'd sorted everything out, Sun Busong was drenched in cold sweat. The person who'd shouted him awake was now wiping his sweat with a towel.
"Hey, kid, are you feeling better? You gave me quite a scare just now. What happened to you? Having a nightmare in broad daylight?"
Sun Busong looked at the old man in front of him as the two sets of memories slowly merged in his mind.
"Uncle Hanyi, I'm fine now. I just had a nightmare. I feel much better, so you don't need to worry about me."
Leibraide, Hanyi—this was his original master and adoptive father.
"You're so frail. This won't do. What did you dream about?"
Uncle Hanyi gently stroked his head and asked with concern and a kindly expression.
Sun Busong slowly sat up.
"I dreamed about some scenes of my parents being killed, but I'm fine now. Please don't worry about me."
Uncle Hanyi's brows furrowed. He said angrily, "Those damn Murloc Scum! They'll pay dearly for this."
Then Uncle Hanyi sighed and continued, "For the past few years, I've been busy making equipment for the Mountaineers, and I've had to take care of you, too. I haven't had time to avenge my poor junior brother."
In the memories Sun Busong had absorbed, Uncle Hanyi and his father had been fellow apprentices. When his parents had taken their five-year-old son by boat from Theramore to visit the senior apprentice they hadn't seen in years, they'd been ambushed by Murlocs in Sunset Marsh.
His parents and all seventeen people traveling with them had died. He alone had been lucky enough to survive, rescued by the Mountaineers from the North Gate Sentry.
When Uncle Hanyi received the terrible news, he'd gone to the Mountaineers with tears in his eyes and taken in Sun Busong, who had been so terrified he'd nearly died.
From then on, he'd become Hanyi's son. His race was now the Dwarf race.
"Son, you're already nine years old. You can't keep acting so timid and meek. You belong to the great and brave Dwarf race, so I've made up my mind!"
Uncle Hanyi stood up and stared at Sun Busong with a stern, penetrating gaze.
"Starting today, you'll learn blacksmithing from me. You're not even ten yet, but there's no time to waste. Your father's and my craft must be passed down. You'll also have to train with the militia. Once you become a proper Dwarf Warrior, you can march out of Cold Ridge Trail with your head held high."
"Then you'll report to Ironforge, join the Mountaineers, and avenge those Murloc Scum!"
Anweimar was a three-story fortress, with the first and second floors underground. This was a distinctive feature of Dwarf architecture. The third floor above ground contained the sentry post and defensive works.
The lowest level was the forge. Five master blacksmiths, including Uncle Hanyi, worked there day and night, making equipment and weapons for the Mountaineers.
The second level housed the living quarters. Several hundred people lived there, and only the five master blacksmiths and the fortress's senior officials had private rooms.
Since Sun Busong was young and Uncle Hanyi's son, the two of them shared a room.
After Uncle Hanyi went to work, Sun Busong dragged his aching body out of the fortress.
A vast, snowy plain stretched out before him.
After finally getting used to his surroundings, Sun Busong began to look around.
Towering mountains rose in every direction, enclosing the place and protecting it. Countless enormous pine trees stood not far from the fortress, alongside the white snow, green pines, and muddy paths trampled by the Mountaineers.
Sun Busong stood in the snow, staring blankly into space for a full ten minutes.
"I've been transported to another world!!!"
A cold gust of wind blew several snowflakes down the back of his neck. He shivered, and finally snapped out of it.
"No way! No way! This can actually happen?"
He had no idea whether he should be glad or upset.
But he quickly pulled himself together. I'm here now, so I might as well make the best of it. What's the point of worrying about all that other stuff?
Character Information!

"That's it?"
He didn't have even the slightest advantage as someone transported to another world!
"There has to be more!"
Sun Busong had been a perfectly ordinary college student, suddenly transported into a game world. He didn't want to live an unremarkable life.
"Right! Skill books! My bags! And the mail!"
He suddenly remembered. When downloading the game, he'd asked an expert on the Youai forums to make some custom items for him.
Sun Busong was so excited that his face lit up. Those items were things no one else in this world could possibly possess—not besides him, anyway!
He soon found the mailbox at the fortress entrance.
Sure enough, everything was there.
He opened the first message.
Besides the items in the package, there was even a letter.
"Haha, what do you think, buddy? I got you the professional skill books you wanted. They include every single blueprint, without missing a thing. You'll be able to craft them once you reach the required level. I've got even better stuff for you later, trust me. Your money won't go to waste."
The sender's name was a jumble of garbled characters!
Whatever. Who cared about that now? Sun Busong immediately took the items from the package. Then a miraculous scene unfolded.
Six beams of light burst straight out of his body, piercing through the clouds that perpetually hung over Cold Ridge Valley. Fortunately, the light lasted only a second. Otherwise, things could've gotten ugly.
When the light faded, Sun Busong eagerly opened his spellbook and skill panel. All six of his professions were at the maximum of 700 points—Grandmaster Level!
Blacksmithing! Leatherworking! Tailoring! Alchemy! Cooking! And Engineering! He'd learned every single blueprint!
"Nice, nice. That's exactly what I wanted. That money was well spent!"
Sun Busong stood in front of the mailbox, laughing up at the sky. But less than a minute later, he suddenly stopped.
"Wait, that's not right. Why are there only six professions? I remember there being thirteen professions in the game."
Sun Busong thought it over for a while before finally remembering that there were still several other professions in World of Warcraft.
"Damn it, I regret this so much! It was just a little more money! Why didn't I learn all the professions?"
It was too late to regret it now. But he soon put it out of his mind, because there were still three packages in the mailbox he hadn't opened.
He opened the second package. This time there was no note, so Busong simply took out the items inside.
There were four bags.
He picked one up and examined it carefully. Soon, a line of tiny text appeared on it.
Ultimate Bag: Item Level 0, soulbound when equipped, container, 38-slot bag. Note: Each slot can stack up to 999 items. This also applies to weapons and equipment.
"Hahaha, this is great! I'll never have to worry about running out of space again."
The biggest bag in the game had thirty-four slots and could stack a maximum of 200 items. It was also unique-equipped. But all four of these bags had thirty-eight slots, each of which could stack up to 999 items!
Without a second thought, Sun Busong equipped all four Ultimate Bags. But that wasn't all!
While checking the bags, he discovered that the first Ultimate Bag contained three more items!
Lion King Huma: A combat pet with extremely high growth potential. Usable by any class. It can grow alongside its owner and randomly learns a Pet Skill every ten levels. It can gain 10% of any of its owner's attributes, including Strength, Stamina, Agility, Armor, Critical Strike, Haste, Versatility, and more! Requires Level 20.
"This is awesome! Any class can use it! Haha, once I reach level twenty, I can use it. Then I won't be fighting alone anymore! There are two more items. Let's keep going. This money was so worth it! I feel like kissing that expert!"
Next was an item with a Phoenix on its icon. Sun Busong muttered, "Please don't tell me it's another combat pet."
After inspecting it carefully, he discovered it was a flying mount!
Ashes of Al'ar: Bound, mount! Use: A mount with extremely high speed. It can travel quickly on land, in the air, and even underwater. It comes with stealth and Flash skills, and you can use skills while mounted! Requires Level 45.
Another treasure! A mount that could use Flash and stealth!
There was one last item in the bag. Sun Busong didn't bother guessing what it was and took it out to examine.
Super Soul Stone: Once bound, it cannot be traded or discarded. It can store your soul permanently, allowing you to die and be resurrected. Upon resurrection, you have 80% of your health and 20% of your mana. (Can be used three times per day!)
"This... this is basically three extra lives! I'm done for, my heart's pounding so hard it might explode!"
After learning he'd been transported to another world, Sun Busong had wondered whether, if he died here, some class with resurrection abilities might be able to bring him back, like in the game.
What worried him most was the possibility that he'd have only one life. If he died, he'd be done for. How could he go wild in this world then?
Now that he had the Super Soul Stone, he didn't have to worry about dying anymore.
"I need to bind this right away. It's even more precious than my life!"
After finishing with everything in the bag, Sun Busong went back to the mailbox to collect the final package.
It was a silver-white necklace, with a striking, imposing design.
It looked like a sword, but also a little like a cross.
Slaughter!
Slaughter: Artifact, Item Level 1 (sealed; one seal unlocked every twenty levels), necklace, soulbound when equipped, cannot be traded or discarded. Growth Artifact. The more monsters or enemies you kill, the faster Slaughter grows. +1 Strength +1 Agility +1 Stamina Equipment Two (sealed) Equipment Three (sealed) Equipment Four (sealed) Equipment Five (sealed) Equipment Six (sealed)
"Now this is a real artifact! I can keep getting stronger just by killing monsters! It's a perfect fit for a grinder like me!"
Sun Busong put the necklace on. A faint soul connection slowly formed between him and Slaughter.
After checking everything once more and making sure he hadn't missed anything, Sun Busong let out a long breath.
Then the corner of his mouth curled upward, and he started chuckling!
"This world, I've come!"
