The midday sun scorched the ground of the bombing test area. Led by Jaina, ten earth mages stood in a circle, their staffs simultaneously thrust into the ground. As they chanted in a low voice, the earth began to tremble, and rocks rose from the ground as if they were alive.
"The top layer is a ten-meter-thick rock layer," Jaina's chief mage explained to Deren, sweat trickling down his graying temples. "The middle layer consists of three layers of granite, totaling six meters in height, with the cave space predicted to be spaced two meters apart. Below is a simulation of the Furnace District's cavities."
He pointed to the forming rock strata, "Based on the reconnaissance report and reasonable assumptions, we reconstructed the structural strength at a 1:1 scale."
Deren looked up at the thirty-meter-tall rock replica and couldn't help but whistle. The mages' masterpiece was so precise that even the ventilation ducts of the Furnace District were perfectly reproduced, and glowing runes were inlaid on the rock walls, simulating the magical protection beneath Orgrimmar.
"Thank you for your hard work!" Deren expressed his sincere gratitude. "Theoretically, as long as the simulated missile penetrates more than twenty meters, it can prove that a live missile can reach the deepest part of the Flame Ridge!"
"Yes, but reality is always somewhat different from theory or experiment." The chief mage couldn't give a definitive answer either.
Deren comforted him, "Time is of the essence, this is the best we can do. We've done our best anyway, and whether we succeed in the end depends on the will of Azeroth." And what he had in abundance was the blessing of Azeroth. Oh, and now he also possessed the Elune's Blessing.
"Then let's begin the experiment!" Deren gestured to Black Dragon on the other side and Aegwynn above him.
High in the sky, Nefarian hovered, gripping a new type of rocket-assisted simulation missile. This time, Aegwynn, the former Guardian, sat on his back in a simple grey travel outfit, her silver hair tied into a neat ponytail. Her hands rested lightly on the scales on Nefarian's neck, sharing the Dragon Race's vision.
"Drop the bomb!" Deren's voice echoed through the sky via telepathy.
Nefarian to an altitude of two thousand meters, then swooped down violently, finally releasing its claws as the bomb roared to the ground. When it was five hundred meters from the target, the rocket boosters at the tail suddenly spewed out orange-red flames, and the missile's speed increased dramatically.
At the same time, Aegwynn pushed her hands forward, and a wind magic spell wrapped around the projectile like a ribbon.
"Boom!"
The shockwave from the explosion caused even distant observers to involuntarily take a few steps back. The entire model shook violently, and the rock strata at the top shattered like biscuits. After the smoke and dust cleared, the mages of the surveying team immediately stepped forward, their crystal detectors beeping rapidly.
"23.7 meters deep!" the chief surveyor shouted, his voice shrill with excitement, "Completely penetrated the rock strata! Hit the central cavity!"
Deren quickly calculated in his notebook, the ink from his quill pen spreading across the paper. "Switching to Arcane Crystal bullets, combined with dual acceleration, forty meters shouldn't be a problem." He looked up at Jaina, "Enough to penetrate to the core of the forge."
"Then let's act tonight. The bombs are ready." Jaina, who had been watching from the sidelines, couldn't wait to make her move. For the past few nights, she had been flying to Onyxia on Orgrimmar to scout. She didn't dare use low-altitude magic for reconnaissance, but instead had the Black Dragon circle high in the sky while she used Eagle Eye to observe the orc capital.
Near Flame Ridge, Kor'kron soldiers were everywhere. Caravans carrying supplies came and went, and goblins and strangely dressed spellcasters constantly ventured underground. Through Arcane Vision, she discovered a massive energy reaction underground. However, its exact location was hidden by rock formations and anti-prophecy spells.
"Alright, let's move tonight." Deren couldn't wait any longer. There were only two days left until the end of the month, and most of the orcs in Theramore would have left. Garrosh should be making his move soon.
On a dark, star-studded beach outside Theramore, the Black Dragon siblings revealed their dragon forms. Deren stood to one side with Anveena, offering her words of encouragement. The Sunwell Incarnation played the most crucial role in this operation.
Then the Portal flashed, and Jaina and Aegwynn appeared on the beach, accompanied by two massive bombs.
"Remember, your Sunwell energy is the guiding beacon," Aegwynn stepped forward and said seriously to Anveena, "I will lock onto your fluctuation frequency, and once the Arcane target is located, I will guide the first bomb." She turned to Anveena, "Just like we practiced, but with more precision."
Anveena nodded, her long golden hair swaying slightly with the movement. She wore a specially made silver robe, embroidered with energy-conducting runes designed by Aegwynn. "I will make the energy flow like water," she said softly, a gentle light emanating from her fingertips, "Steady and continuous."
Meanwhile, Jaina was inspecting the seams on the Arcane Crystal. "I'll guide the second bomb," she said without looking up, "Cutting in from the opposite direction." She turned to Deren, "There will be a three-second interval, making sure one of the two bombs reaches the bottom of the furnace."
Deren continued, "The bomb has a backup physical fuse, which will begin a one-minute countdown after the impact and ground vibrations. Even if the Horde's Shaman interferes with the magical channeling," he gently stroked the bomb, "It will still ensure an explosion."
Jaina surveyed the crowd. The dim moonlight barely illuminated the surroundings, casting shadows and a fierce intensity on her face. "Tonight's operation must succeed." Her gaze swept over every face. "Any oversight could—"
"--This could all allow Garrosh to use Eye of the Storm ahead of time," Deren chimed in, a cold smile playing on his lips. "Hopefully he'll like our gift. Orgrimmar's future will be brighter!"
She then took out a few leaves and distributed them to everyone, personally feeding one to Onyxia. Aegwynn also fed one to Nefarian. Everyone else ate their own leaves. After a while, Elune's Blessing took effect, and everyone's figures became blurred in the moonlight.
"It works well, even better than invisibility magic!" Aegwynn nodded. Then, he and Anveena climbed onto Nefarian's body.
"Let's go!" Jaina climbed onto Onyxia's back. Deren followed closely behind.
The two Black Dragon had already attached bombs to their claws, spread their wings, and prepared to take off. In the distance, Theramore remained brightly lit, peaceful and tranquil as always.
"Sister," the Black Dragon grinned, revealing a mouthful of sharp teeth, the air thick with the smell of sulfur, "It's time to send the orcs a big gift."
"Shut up, you stupid brother. Remember the key points of the operation. If you mess this up, you'll have nowhere to cry when you get back," Onyxia hissed. Once the person on her was settled, the two Black Dragon silently flew into the night sky, circled once, and flew north towards Orgrimmar.
