Viewed from a high altitude, the afterglow of the setting sun drags out a golden strip of light on the sea
Black Dragon began to dive, the speed increased from slow to fast. Jaina took a deep breath, and the strong wind blew her blonde hair around.
When it reached the lowest point, Onyxia released its claws, and the second test projectile began to fall freely.
Jaina immediately cast the spell, and the air flow was like invisible hands holding the bomb. Sweat quickly broke out on her forehead. This kind of fine control was much more difficult than imagined. The projectile swayed in the air, like a drunken raven, but it was indeed approaching the target.
"It's off to the left!" Onyxia reminded. Longyi adjusted the angle in flight so that Jaina could observe the trajectory of the bomb more clearly.
Jaina gritted his teeth and made fine adjustments with his fingers. A gust of crosswind accurately blew the bomb and corrected its trajectory. In the last hundred meters, the projectile fell almost vertically.
"Boom!"
Sand and dust were flying, and the impact point was only ten meters away from the center of the red circle. The shock wave set off waves and created a large crater on the beach, which was quickly filled with sea water.
On the ground, Deren and Magni cheered. The dwarf even jumped up with excitement, his beard rising to the sky.
Chromie appeared beside them at some point, conjuring up several fireworks to bloom in the air, with colorful sparks reflecting on everyone's face.
Onyxia landed slowly, and Jaina slid off the dragon's back. His legs were weak, but his eyes were shining with excitement. "I did it!"
Deren rushed over and gave her a strong hug, almost lifting her up. "That's great! This is ten times better than expected!"
Onyxia returned to human form and rubbed his shoulders. "Can you find a lighter bomb next time? My hands are sore."
That afternoon, Deren had a new idea.
"If Jaina can control the bomb on the ground," he pointed to the model of Simple Sand Table made on the beach, "Our combat radius can be greatly increased."
Magni frowned. "But the accuracy will decrease, right?"
"Only experimentation can tell." Deren turned to Jaina who was drinking water, his eyes shining with expectation, "Try again?"
Jaina sighed, but still picked up the staff. "For Azeroth."
This time, Onyxia took off alone with the bomb, while Jaina stood on a high ground and observed with the help of a vision-enhancing spell.
After the bomb was released, Jaina immediately started casting. The distance obviously affected the control accuracy, and the bomb drew an "S" shape in the air as if it was drunk. But in the end, it still landed about fifty meters away from the target.
"Effective, but not accurate enough." Deren recorded the data, "The maximum control distance is about three kilometers, and the accuracy drops sharply after exceeding it."
Chromie came over and looked at the data. "If Jaina is allowed to stand on the city wall, it should be able to cover most of the battlefield."
Onyxia heard their discussion when they landed. "So I don't have to be a mount next time?"
Deren smiled slyly, "The accuracy of air guidance is higher, and" he lowered his voice, "Jaina said you fly very steadily."
Onyxia's lips curled up unconsciously, and then he straightened his face. "Humph, of course."
In the days that followed, huge crashes echoed on the beach every day.
Onyxia and Jaina began intensive training. Black Dragon practiced dropping bombs from different heights and angles, trying to make the initial trajectory of the bomb as close to the target as possible;
Jaina refined her Wind Control Spell, found a special staff, and enhanced Wind Skill. She learned how to achieve maximum trajectory correction with minimum mana consumption.
"Do it again!" Jaina shouted while riding on the back of the dragon, the strong wind ruffling her blond hair.
Onyxia dived, released its claws at the lowest point, and the bomb flew out at a nearly vertical angle. Jaina's spell immediately wrapped the missile body, guiding it to fly to the target like an arrow.
"Hit the red heart!" Magni cheers came from the ground.
In the evening, the exhausted Jaina and Onyxia sat side by side on the beach, watching the sunset turn the sea into gold.
"I didn't expect that we cooperated well." Jaina said softly, with a hint of exhaustion and satisfaction in his tone.
Onyxia snorted, "Don't be too proud, human Princess. I just don't want those demons to have an easy time."
Jaina smiled and did not expose Black Dragon's disguise. In the distance, Deren and Magni were discussing how to increase the power of the bomb. Chromie got a bunch of snacks from somewhere and watched the fun while eating.
Deren looked up at the gradually darkening sky and said to himself, "That's not enough. If the summoning ceremony is held in the middle of the night, you also need to practice accurately dropping bombs in the dark."
Jaina heard this, turned around and asked him, "What is the summoning ceremony?"
Deren glanced at her, then glanced at Chromie. Bronze Dragon nodded, seeming to allow him to continue speaking.
Deren sighed and said slowly, "I estimate that one day in the future, Dalaran will have a ritual to summon demons, so I went out of my way to prepare High-Altitude Bombing this time in order to destroy this evil ritual."
After hearing this, Jaina opened his eyes wide and said in disbelief, "Impossible, absolutely impossible. How could Dalaran allow someone to do this?"
"Those are Dalaran, Arcane City. How could there be so many Kirin Tor Archmages holding evil rituals in front of their eyes. I dare to swear that as long as anyone dares to do this, they will be eliminated within a minute."
Deren looked at the sky and did not refute. He just said calmly, "It's better to be prepared. It's not always the best. In case of emergency, there is a backup method."
"Besides, if you don't use it in the end, this method can still blow up many targets. Azeroth has many strange forces. I'll give them a big one when the time comes."
Jaina's mind was not on the big guys. She was thinking about the circumstances under which Dalaran would actually have evil rituals. She asked uncertainly, "Did Dalaran finally be breached by Undead?"
Deren said lightly, "At the beginning, Sun King also felt that Quel'Thalas's defense was flawless."
Jaina retorted, "That's because there is a traitor within High Elf."
When she finished speaking, she was stunned. Isn't the current Dalaran the same blind confidence as the original Quel'Thalas?
She asked nonchalantly, "Do you want me to remind my teacher, Antonidas?"
Deren was noncommittal. "It's up to you!" Then he shook his head, "But I guess he won't listen."
Jaina showed deep worry. Looking at the horizon in the distance, it seemed that Dalaran was there, and some unknown threat was lurking there.
