Kalimdor was surrounded by many small islands, and the Horde's Darkspear Trolls had once lived on some of them. They called them the Echo Isles. Unfortunately, the Echo Isles had now been seized by a Witch Doctor named Zul'jin. Using dark magic, he enslaved many Darkspear Trolls, stripping them of their thoughts and turning them into living puppets. Now, however, they no longer satisfied Zul'jin's desires and ambitions. He wanted more slaves, but the Echo Isles were surrounded by the sea, leaving him with nowhere to go.

One stormy night, a hunched figure in a robe that concealed his appearance set foot on the island. The Darkspear Trolls surrounded him, but he made no attempt to resist. He allowed them to take him to Zul'jin.

"Are you saying you came from across the sea?"

Zul'jin looked at the hunched, cloaked figure before him, his eyes full of disregard for life. Clearly, if the stranger's answer failed to satisfy him, Zul'jin wouldn't hesitate to eat him. The Darkspear Trolls had abandoned that old custom, but some things could be brought back if you wanted them badly enough.

"No, I didn't come from across the sea. I came from another continent. The Echo Isles are just a small piece of land that drifted away from it. The real, vast land is where I came from. There are mountain ranges stretching for thousands of miles, endless forests, deserts, grasslands, and rivers. The people who live there can enjoy an inexhaustible supply of food instead of eating these fishy, rotten scraps every day."

Though the stranger's robe concealed his face, the hands he exposed were green. That brought Forest Trolls to Zul'jin's mind. Those green-from-head-to-toe fellows were Trolls, too, but the Darkspear Trolls, as Jungle Trolls, looked down on those relatives of theirs. Still,
