"Wh-what?"
"Help!"
"Someone save me?"
"Run, the avalanche is coming!"
Amidst the cries of panic, the Sand Ninja camp was flattened.
Yes, the aerial assault strategy was unexpectedly effective. Bing San rode a massive ice block down the mountain.
With the experience from last time, Orochimaru had equipped Bing San with twenty Jonin proficient in wind-attribute ninjutsu.
The ice block plummeted down from the 2,000-meter-high Kikyo Mountain.
Nara Shikaku was frozen behind Bing San. Shikaku kept muttering, "Slow down, slow down, I'm going to die, I'm going to die!"
The wind-attribute Jonin behind them had vacant eyes, their pupils swirling.
Even the elite Jonin Aburame Torune was trembling inside his ice armor, cold sweat pouring down his face. He looked like he was about to shake apart.
About five to six kilometers from the camp, they could see white waves of snow.
Within minutes, Bing San, riding the ice block and breaking through the waves, descended from the 2,000-meter-high Kikyo Mountain.
The snow wave, over forty meters high, flattened everything in its path.
The power of nature was truly on full display.
The one responsible for defending the camp was Ebizo, who had just rotated in. Ebizo, having fought his whole life, had never witnessed such a spectacular sight.
Ebizo's legs trembled as he knelt on the ground, muttering, "It's over, Sand Ninja are finished, all finished."
Bing San and the others charged over seventy kilometers in one go, flattening two small villages and a small mountain.
Towards the end, Bing San gritted his teeth, squeezing out the last drop of Chakra. Thin lines of blood trickled from his lips, unnoticed.
When Orochimaru arrived with the main force, he was shocked.
The entire area below Kikyo Mountain was completely obscured, and the former camp location was a vast expanse of white.
When Orochimaru dug Bing San out of the snowdrift, Bing San had already lost consciousness.
Orochimaru looked at the unconscious personnel, their bodies flushed red with blood vessels, and tiny wounds gaping open.
Several Jonin had died from internal bleeding, and the rest were in very poor condition.
Orochimaru gently stroked Bing San's head and murmured, "Why did you have to push yourself so hard!"
Bing San and the others were carried back by Orochimaru. It was a testament to their tough bodies.
A novice driver, without a license, not only drove recklessly but even broke the sound barrier and drifted wildly. It was a miracle the car didn't break down halfway.
When Bing San woke up, he was in the Konoha hospital. A total of fifty-eight people had gone up the mountain. Only thirty-three opened their eyes. Even the elite Jonin Aburame Torune, terrified by the speed, tried to jump off the ice block and lost an arm.
It's hard to believe this guy, an elite Jonin, a top-tier figure in the Ninja World, was so scared he lost his nerve.
Because of this injury, he dropped out of the elite Jonin tier. It would be impossible for him to climb back up without some miraculous encounter.
Two Root Ninja and three Anbu died from severe internal injuries.
One wind-attribute Jonin and one Root Ninja who was protecting C3 were lost on the way.
Among the remaining survivors, some died from shock, some from lack of oxygen, and some from fear.
Those who survived sustained very, very serious injuries. The Anbu Jonin captain who protected Hei San, Tanaka Hiroshi, permanently lost his qualification as a ninja.
The reason was simple: he was too scared. Now, he trembled at the sight of water and ice and felt nauseous if anything moved too fast.
When everyone woke up, it was over a month later.
Bing San lay in bed, listening to Asuma excitedly recount the events, and finally pieced together what had happened.
When Chiyo and Rasa arrived at the scene with their people, they were stunned.
Over 800 ninja and a month's worth of accumulated supplies were buried in the snow.
Chiyo, a woman of ill fortune, also lost her brother Ebizo, crushed to death in the snow. That day, she went mad.
That night, Chiyo led the Sand Ninja in a fierce assault on the Konoha camp, attacking for three days and three nights.
Orochimaru and Shin'nosuke Sarutobi struggled to hold the line. Fortunately, Fugaku Uchiha arrived with his clan to transport supplies, otherwise, the battle situation would have been unpredictable.
The Sand Ninja's attack ultimately failed, with heavy losses. The Konoha side was also in ruins, and both sides retreated to lick their wounds.
Seven days later, the Sand Ninja withdrew. Orochimaru's unit, due to heavy losses and the harsh weather, did not pursue rashly.
The Sand Ninja front line finally stabilized, and Orochimaru sent the injured ninja back to Konoha for recovery. Bing San and the others were also sent back to Konoha while still unconscious.
Bing San, you are a hero of Konoha. The entire Ninja World knows about it. Bing San, your surprise attack squad flattened the Sand Ninja camp and defeated the Sand Ninja.
Do you know, Bing San, when we heard the news, all of Konoha erupted. The old man even had an extra drink that day," Asuma shouted excitedly, drawing the displeasure of those nearby.
Nara Shikaku threw an apple at Asuma's face, causing Asuma to wail.
But the ward was filled with joy. The Sand Ninja were no longer capable of fighting. Whether they would fight or make peace was up to the Third Hokage's decision.
Another week later, Bing San could finally get out of bed. He walked unsteadily out of the hospital and happened to meet his attending physician. This doctor, wearing small round glasses, was specifically found for Bing San by Orochimaru. He was Orochimaru's classmate, Hiruko.
Hiruko seemed a bit insecure, appearing timid and meek, but Bing San knew this man was the creator of the later Kaguya, a genius scientist.
"Bing San-kun, please don't move around. You can't do strenuous exercise yet," Hiruko said, reaching out to embrace Bing San.
Bing San said calmly, "Hiruko, I want to walk around and see things. Please support me as we walk."
Hiruko and Bing San left the medical department together and walked on the streets of Konoha. They watched the hurried pedestrians, all sallow-skinned and with numb expressions.
War brought only pain. At least, that was the case for Konoha at the moment.
Just then, a woman in Uchiha attire, holding a small child, walked towards the medical department.
The passing ninjas all nodded in greeting to her. Bing San tilted his head, looking at the woman and the child in her arms.
"That is the wife of the Uchiha clan head, Fugaku Uchiha, and their child. I heard they named him Itachi Uchiha," Hiruko said, then adjusted Bing San's outer clothing. He was probably worried Bing San would get cold. In reality, Bing San wasn't afraid of the cold; he only feared the heat.
Bing San murmured, "He's already born? Time passes so quickly."
Bing San had almost forgotten the memories he had integrated. After all, other people's experiences, no matter how exciting, weren't that profound. While Bing San was spacing out, an Anbu suddenly appeared before him.
"Lord Shimura Bing San, the Hokage invites you to the Hokage Building's conference room for a meeting." After speaking, the Anbu trembled, tears silently streaming down his face. He bowed to Bing San and said, "Thank you immensely for your efforts on the front lines. My brother and younger brother both perished at Ebizo's hands. Thank you for avenging my deep-seated hatred."
Bing San weakly stood up from the park bench and patted the shoulder of the bowing man.
The Anbu's slightly trembling voice made Bing San understand that some pain could only be released through bloodshed.
Bing San looked up at the darkening sky and sighed, "Originally, I just wanted to survive. Fate truly plays tricks on people!"
