Chapter 18: The Sea Monster Extermination Battle with No Results

"Okay, the alliance with Saber's side has been settled. The next step is to drag this extermination battle out until all the Mages present become restless due to the leakage of mystery, and then have Kiritsugu Emiya contact Kirei Kotomine and tell him that Saber has an anti-city Noble Phantasm. Although the battle was fierce, it didn't stop Berserker's group from slacking off and goofing around on the battlefield.

The Sea Monster is a powerful monster. Without fully unleashing his Noble Phantasm, even Alcaeus would be overwhelmed. However, if it's just about stalling for time, the difficulty is equivalent to a Souls-like veteran playing Dynasty Warriors.

"Are Lancer and his Master worth you targeting them like this?" Alcaeus asked, tearing off a tentacle that had wrapped around his ankle. He then threw his Great Axe, cleaving the head of a small Sea Monster that was attacking Lancer from behind.

"Thank you, my lord," Lancer said, thanking Li Zihan's owl Familiar.

He didn't know that Berserker possessed sentience and thought that Li Zihan had discovered the danger and ordered Berserker to rescue him.

"You don't need to thank me," the owl replied righteously. "It's the duty of a collaborator."

If a person's face had defensive capabilities, a certain transmigrator could probably tank a Noble Phantasm with it.

"Why would I target Lancer? He's not worth me doing this," Li Zihan replied to Lancer before continuing his conversation with Alcaeus. "Our only enemy is Archer."

He continued to explain his objective without pause. "Saber is one of the only two Servants in this Holy Grail War who can possibly defeat Archer. If you are restrained by Archer, then Saber's 'light cannon' will be your only hope."

"It seems you don't have complete faith in me," Alcaeus said, catching his returning axe. He then leaped high into the air, stomping on the tentacles attacking him as he charged forward, his axe blade aimed directly at the Sea Monster's core.

"That's only natural. Gilgamesh is at the pinnacle among all summonable Servants. I don't know what Noble Phantasms are in the 'Gate of Babylon,' nor do I know what effects those Noble Phantasms have when their true names are unleashed," Li Zihan admitted frankly. "I know how to counter the 'Chains of Heaven' that naturally counter you, and I know how to deal with that sword which can shatter space even without unleashing its true name. But I am truly helpless against the 'Gate of Babylon'."

The unknown is the most terrifying thing, and Alcaeus understood Li Zihan's meaning. How can you target something when you don't even know what the opponent holds?

"Only an idiot would place their hopes on the enemy's arrogance and underestimation," Li Zihan said calmly. "Archer is far more powerful than you remember. Possessing the ability to see through opponents' true names or Noble Phantasms with a single glance, along with the future 'Star of Divinity and All-Knowing' and the 'Gate of Babylon,' he is an undeniable Servant killer."

Either kill him before Archer gets serious, or create a desperate situation where he must be killed. There is no other way.

"If the worst-case scenario occurs, you will need to restrain Archer's actions, and then Saber will annihilate you both from afar," Li Zihan said casually, speaking words that would normally incite a Servant to betray their Master.

"I understand," Alcaeus replied indifferently, his tone as if discussing a slight increase in the price of green onions, rather than the fact that his life could be extinguished at any moment. "Berserker's spiritual foundation is still affecting me. I might need to exert myself a bit more to vent, otherwise, I'm afraid I'll go mad when I see that guy."

Without waiting for Li Zihan's reply, Alcaeus roared, and the stone axe in his hand visibly transformed, becoming a Demon Sword far larger than any steel sword.

A color like blood mixed with ink wrapped around the greatsword, and rampant Magic Power tore through the atmosphere. Alcaeus, leaping high, plunged the tip of the sword straight down, like a dark red meteor.
