Background / History

In her original era ten thousand years in the future, Tang Ya bore the mission of reviving the declining Tang Sect. Li Qingxuan summoned her into the past through a Douluo draw after his breakthrough to Soul Grand Master. The system stated that she retained all of her soul-ring and soul-bone abilities and had unconditionally pledged loyalty to him. 11

Li Qingxuan offered her an alternative to merely restoring the Tang Sect: she could establish it ten thousand years early as its true first-generation Sect Master. Tang Ya accepted the opportunity and agreed that the Tang Sect would operate under the Sky Mending Pavilion. 11

Li Qingxuan later assigned Tang Ya to establish the Tang Sect and bring the four former Clear Sky Sect subsidiary clans under it. 19

According to Li Qingxuan's account of the future, Tang Ya was once abducted by the Holy Spirit Cult, which used an unknown method to transform her soul rings into ten-thousand-year rings. 19

She is also proactive: she offers to handle dangerous soul-beast hunts, questions the historical causes behind the Holy Spirit Cult's rise, and commits herself to preventing Evil Soul Masters from threatening the continent. 11 14 19 20

She is proud and combative around Ye Guyi. Their former Tang Sect connection does not stop them from competing over status, design talent, and proximity to Li Qingxuan; Tang Ya repeatedly rejects Ye Guyi's demands to address her as Vice Pavilion Master. 11 18 21

Despite her elevated status, Tang Ya can be blunt and suspicious. When Qian Renxue first visits the mansion, Tang Ya challenges her identity and motives before allowing her inside. 12
