Hongjun bestowed the Myriad Heavens Auspicious Cloud upon Jieyin and Zhunti to help revive the West, and Xuande recognized how his presence had changed the future. Ch. 52Heaven-Ordained Saint Positions

Hongjun bestowed treasures on Tongtian and Nuwa, then revealed that the Primordial Wilderness had nine heaven-ordained Saint Positions, with seven belonging to the Mystic Gate. He gave six strands of Primordial Violet Qi to the six figures seated on the meditation cushions, confirming their opportunities to become Sages.

  • Tongtian received the Immortal Slaying Four Swords and their formation diagram, which could not be broken without four Sages.
  • Xuande recalled that Tongtian would later use the formation in the Investiture of the Gods War, before the Three Pure Ones split apart.

  • Hongjun announced nine heaven-ordained Saint Positions, seven of which belonged to the Mystic Gate.
  • Hongjun gave Primordial Violet Qi to Laozi, Jieyin, Zhunti, Yuanshi, Tongtian, and Nuwa, identifying them as having the opportunity to become Sages.

Ch. 53The Seventh Primordial Violet Qi

After Hongjun gave six strands of Primordial Violet Qi to the occupants of the six cushions, he revealed that one of the Mystic Gate’s seven Saint Positions remained and set another strand loose in the hall. The powerful figures struggled to attract it, but it continued drifting without choosing anyone.

  • The crowd watched Laozi, Jieyin, Zhunti, Yuanshi, Tongtian, and Nuwa return to their cushions with Primordial Violet Qi, while Xuande remained calm about not receiving one.
  • Hongjun announced that there were nine Saint Positions, seven belonging to the Mystic Gate, and that one strand of Primordial Violet Qi remained.
  • Hongjun released the seventh strand and said it would choose based on affinity, not origins or opportunities.
  • The powerful figures used their magical power, cultivation, and treasures to try to claim the violet qi, but they could neither seize nor influence it.
  • Dijun, Taiyi, Minghe, Kunpeng, King Father of the East, and West Queen Mother tried their respective methods, while Randeng and Houtu watched without acting.

Ch. 54The Violet Qi's Choice

The final Primordial Violet Qi wandered through the hall before settling on Hong Yun, granting him the chance to become a Sage. He realized the other mighty figures envied or resented his good fortune and edged closer to Zhenyuanzi.

  • Laozi, Yuanshi, Tongtian, Jieyin, Zhunti, and Nuwa tried to attract the violet qi, but it drifted past them.
  • The violet qi paused before Minghe, Kunpeng, Di Jun, Tai Yi, Houtu, Fuxi, Zhenyuanzi, and Xuande, then moved on without choosing any of them.
  • The violet qi stopped before Hong Yun and entered his Primordial Spirit, leaving him stunned.
  • Hong Yun celebrated his good fortune with Zhenyuanzi, while Zhunti urged him to put the treasure away.
  • Hong Yun noticed the envious and resentful gazes around him and asked Zhenyuanzi why everyone was staring; Zhenyuanzi explained that they coveted what Hong Yun had obtained.

Ch. 55Seizing the Initiative

After Hong Yun received Primordial Violet Qi, Xuande resolved to protect him from the ambitious powers who might pursue it. When Hongjun announced that treasures awaited on Treasure Distribution Cliff, Xuande and six others rushed there first and began collecting treasures fated for them.

  • Hong Yun celebrated receiving Primordial Violet Qi, while Xuande recognized the danger it brought and decided to protect him after they left Zixiao Palace.
  • Hongjun ended his sermon and announced that fated treasures could be collected from Treasure Distribution Cliff.
  • Xuande, Zhenyuanzi, Hong Yun, Nuwa, Fuxi, Jieyin, and Zhunti raced out first, prompting the other great powers to rush after them.

Ch. 56Treasure Distribution Cliff

Xuande and the others collected their destined treasures from Treasure Distribution Cliff, and Xuande realized the cliff itself was a treasure and took it. As the seven traveled toward the Primordial Wilderness, Xuande and Zhenyuanzi worried that other great powers would covet Hongyun’s Primordial Violet Qi, so they planned to shelter him at Wuzhuang Temple.

  • Xuande collected the Sea Calming Pearls, the Central Wuji Apricot Yellow Banner, the As-You-Will Iron Rod Soldier, and several treasures suited to his path of merit.
  • The Three Pure Ones and other great powers arrived and collected their destined treasures before leaving Treasure Distribution Cliff.
  • Xuande recognized that Treasure Distribution Cliff had absorbed the treasures’ spiritual auras and shrank it into a green stone, then the seven departed together.
  • Zhenyuanzi told Xuande he feared the other great powers would covet Hongyun’s Primordial Violet Qi, and Xuande proposed taking Hongyun to Wuzhuang Temple for safety.
  • Xuande resolved to protect Hongyun as the seven continued toward the Primordial Wilderness.

Ch. 57The Three Lamps of Heaven, Earth, and Man

The group returned from Chaos to Wuzhuang Temple, where Fuxi gave Nuwa the Eight Sceneries Palace Lantern to support her cultivation. Xuande considered how Fuxi might find a different future through humanity rather than joining the Demon Clan.

  • The seven returned to Longevity Mountain and gathered beneath the Ginseng Fruit Tree for tea and Ginseng Fruits.
  • Fuxi gave Nuwa the Eight Sceneries Palace Lantern, explaining that its shared origin with her other lamps made it better suited to her Dao.
  • Nuwa accepted the lantern after Fuxi assured her that he gave it willingly and wished to support her path to sainthood.
  • Xuande reflected that Fuxi might avoid his former fate in the War of the Lichs and pursue sainthood through humanity's fortune.

Ch. 58Three Books of Heaven, Earth, and Man

Nuwa gathered three of the Four Lamps of Heaven and Earth, while Xuande distributed precious treasures to help Jieyin and Zhunti prepare to Sever the Corpse. Zhenyuanzi then revealed that his Earth Scroll and the Book of Life and Death pointed toward a matching Heavenly Book, which had not yet appeared.

  • Nuwa set the Precious Lotus Lantern, the Spirit Coffin Palace Lantern, and the Eight Sceneries Palace Lantern together, and Zhenyuanzi remarked on her good fortune.
  • Jieyin gave Xuande the Twelve-Petal World-Purifying White Lotus, and Xuande accepted it.

  • Hong Yun joked that Xuande should give him a Supreme Innate Spiritual Treasure, prompting laughter from the group.
  • Zhenyuanzi brought out the Book of Life and Death and the Judge's Brush, explaining that they revealed a matching Heavenly Book whose discovery could unite the three books into an extraordinary treasure.

Ch. 59Xuande's Dilemma

Zhenyuanzi warned that Hong Yun would be hunted for possessing the Primordial Violet Qi, so the group gathered at Wuzhuang Temple to protect him and pursue their own cultivation. Xuande entered seclusion to decide whether to use the Three Lotuses to sever his corpses or absorb them and evolve toward the Chaos Green Lotus, but he had not chosen a path.

  • Zhenyuanzi warned Hong Yun that powerful figures might try to seize the Primordial Violet Qi once they left Zixiao Palace, and urged him to remain at Wuzhuang Temple.
  • Xuande, Jieyin, Zhunti, Nuwa, Fuxi, and Zhenyuanzi promised to protect Hong Yun, who thanked them and went to meditate on the Violet Qi.
  • Jieyin, Zhunti, Nuwa, and Zhenyuanzi entered seclusion to study their treasures and seek ways to Sever the Corpse, while Fuxi continued making divinations.
  • Xuande entered seclusion to study the Merit Golden Lotus, World-Purifying White Lotus, and Destruction Black Lotus and weigh two possible cultivation paths.
  • Xuande considered using the Three Lotuses to sever his corpses or absorbing them to evolve toward the Chaos Green Lotus, but he remained undecided.

Ch. 60Xuande's Choice: Severing the Obsession Corpse

Xuande weighed the safe path of severing corpses against the dangerous path of Returning to Origin, then chose to attain Sagehood before pursuing the Chaos Green Lotus. He decided to sever his Obsession Corpse first, separating the attachment to his former life from his identity as a cultivator in the Primordial Wilderness.

  • Xuande concluded that Returning to Origin would provoke the Heavenly Dao and Hongjun, so he chose to sever the corpses first and seek the Chaos Green Lotus only after becoming a Sage.
  • Xuande summoned the Twelve-Petal Merit Golden Lotus and considered which of his Good, Evil, and Obsession thoughts to sever first.
  • Xuande recognized that the Obsession represented his attachment to having once been an ordinary person in another world, while his memories and knowledge would remain after severing it.
  • Xuande decided to sever the Obsession Corpse and drew the figure from his Primordial Spirit into the Merit Golden Lotus.
  • The Merit Golden Lotus transformed the separated figure into a man resembling Xuande, dressed in a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers.

Ch. 61The Arrangement for the Obsession Corpse

Xuande severed his obsession with his past life, became an Early Quasi-Saint, and decided to send the independent Obsession Corpse into reincarnation when humanity arose. After consolidating his new cultivation, he left his cave abode and sat beneath the Ginseng Fruit Tree to keep watch over the others in seclusion.

  • Xuande's Obsession Corpse understood that he represented Xuande's attachment to his former human life, and Xuande accepted that severing him let him belong to the Primordial Wilderness.
  • Xuande broke through to the Early Quasi-Saint realm after severing his obsession.
  • Xuande told the Obsession Corpse he would send him into reincarnation to be reborn human when Empress Nuwa created humanity and Empress Houtu established the cycle of reincarnation.
  • Xuande drew the Obsession Corpse into his sleeve and began consolidating his Quasi-Saint cultivation.
  • Xuande left his cave abode, found the others still in seclusion, and sat beneath the Ginseng Fruit Tree to keep watch over them.

Ch. 62More and More Severed Corpses

Nuwa, Jieyin, Zhunti, and Zhenyuanzi each severed their Good Corpses and broke through to Quasi-Saint. Xuande confirmed their success, while Hong Yun and Fuxi continued on their own paths without severing their corpses.

  • Nuwa used the Precious Lotus Lantern to sever her Good Corpse and broke through to Quasi-Saint.
  • Jieyin used the Central Wuji Apricot Yellow Banner to sever his Good Corpse and broke through to Quasi-Saint.
  • Zhunti used a set of eight Twenty-Four Sea-Calming Pearls to sever his Good Corpse and broke through to Quasi-Saint.
  • Zhenyuanzi used the Earth Scroll to sever his Good Corpse and broke through to Quasi-Saint.
  • Xuande confirmed that all four had succeeded, while Hong Yun continued comprehending the Primordial Violet Qi and Fuxi continued deducing divination.

Ch. 63A Major Upheaval in the Starry Sky

  • Changxi shook her head and refused the invitation.

Ch. 64King Father of the East's Ambition

  • Di Jun traded the Moonlight Mirror for a wisp of Taiyin Origin from Changxi and Xihe, who chose to remain uninvolved in worldly conflicts.
  • Di Jun explained to Taiyi that the Taiyin Origin would help form the Great Array of the Stars, and he ordered the Star Gods to provide their stars' Origin Essence for Array Flags.
  • Di Jun began forging the Array Flags as Star Gods brought their offerings to the Sun Star.
  • King Father of the East told his subordinates he would establish the Immortal Court to unite rogue cultivators, relying on the authority of the Dao Ancestor's appointment.

  • King Father of the East declared Purple Mansion Continent the Immortal Court's seat and called on his followers to build it with him as Emperor Donghua.

Ch. 65Discourse on the Dao at Buzhou Mountain

After stabilizing their cultivation at Wuzhuang Temple, Nuwa, Jieyin, Zhunti, and Zhenyuanzi joined Xuande and Hong Yun to visit Buzhou Mountain. There, the group shared tea and compared their methods of severing corpses, ending with Xuande explaining why he severed his Obsession first.

  • Nuwa, Xuande, Jieyin, Zhunti, and Zhenyuanzi emerged from seclusion and exchanged insights while waiting for Hong Yun.
  • Hong Yun came out without breaking through, but said studying the Primordial Violet Qi had deepened his understanding of the Heavenly Dao.
  • Nuwa invited the group to Buzhou Mountain, and the seven traveled there and entered her and Fuxi's abode.
  • Nuwa served tea, and Hong Yun praised it as more fragrant than the Ginseng Fruit tea at Wuzhuang Temple.
  • Nuwa, Jieyin, Zhunti, and Zhenyuanzi described how they had severed their Good Corpses using their respective treasures.
  • Xuande explained that he had severed his Obsession first because it was the root that continued to bind someone even after good and evil thoughts were severed.

Ch. 66The Demon Clan and Immortal Court Are Established

Dijun and Taiyi established the Demon Clan, prompting reactions across the Primordial Wilderness. King Father of the East then hastened to establish the Immortal Court as Emperor Donghua, and his announcement left Xuande and the others on Buzhou Mountain stunned.

  • Dijun and Taiyi announced the Demon Clan’s establishment and named the Chaos Bell and the All-Encompassing Stars as the foundations of its fortune and power.
  • Xuande and the others discussed the Demon Clan’s ambitions and decided not to interfere unless Dijun and Taiyi provoked them.
  • Taiqing Laozi ignored the announcement, Yuqing Yuanshi condemned it, and Shangqing Tongtian praised Dijun and Taiyi’s ambition.
  • King Father of the East, angered that Dijun and Taiyi had announced their faction first, ordered the Immortal Court established and took the title Emperor Donghua.
  • King Father of the East announced the Immortal Court across the Primordial Wilderness, leaving Hong Yun and Zhunti bewildered and Zhenyuanzi reflecting on the move.

Ch. 67The Three Pure Ones' Calculations About Di Jun and Taiyi

Xuande, Nuwa, Fuxi, Hong Yun, Zhenyuanzi, Jieyin, and Zhunti sensed an Innate Spiritual Treasure emerging on Buzhou Mountain and set out to find it. The Three Pure Ones and Di Jun and Taiyi also sensed it, but chose not to challenge the seven for the treasure; the seven continued upward as the pressure grew stronger.

  • As the seven discussed cultivation on Buzhou Mountain, they sensed a spiritual treasure emerging, and Fuxi divined that it was at least an Innate Spiritual Treasure.
  • Nuwa agreed to investigate, and the seven rode their Escape Lights toward the source of the fluctuation.
  • Laozi told Yuanshi and Tongtian that seven powerful figures were already on Buzhou Mountain, so the Three Pure Ones returned to their caves rather than risk a conflict.
  • Taiyi urged Di Jun to claim the treasure, but Di Jun warned that doing so would make enemies of the seven and distract the newly founded Demon Clan from building its strength.
  • Taiyi accepted Di Jun's reasoning, and the brothers turned back to Demon Clan affairs while the seven continued climbing Buzhou Mountain through growing pressure.

Ch. 68The Innate Gourd Vine

Xuande and six companions discovered the Innate Gourd Vine hidden on Buzhou Mountain, bearing seven gourds that each held the power of an Innate Spiritual Treasure. The chapter ended with the seven of them realizing they had found the legendary root before the Three Pure Ones or Dijun and Taiyi arrived.

  • Nuwa and Fuxi led the group through Buzhou Mountain's dangerous upper reaches to a secluded hollow.
  • The seven companions joined their power to open an ancient Innate Restriction and entered a small pocket realm.
  • They found the Innate Gourd Vine and its seven differently colored gourds, each radiating the aura of an Innate Spiritual Treasure.
  • Zhenyuanzi explained that the treasures were gourds borne by an Innate Spiritual Root, leaving the group astonished.
  • Xuande recalled how the gourds had been divided in the events he remembered and realized that he and his six companions had discovered them first.

Ch. 69Jieyin and Zhunti's Transformation

Xuande and the others agreed to give the seven Innate Gourds to Hong Yun and Fuxi so they could obtain treasures to sever their corpses. Before they could claim them, they discovered that the seventh gourd lacked Origin Essence, and Xuande considered how to help it ripen.

  • Xuande explained that Hong Yun and Fuxi needed treasures of the same origin more than the others did, and Zhenyuanzi, Nuwa, Jieyin, and Zhunti agreed to give them the gourds.
  • Hong Yun and Fuxi hesitated to accept all seven gourds, but Xuande argued that their future strength would help everyone, and Fuxi accepted with thanks.
  • Zhenyuanzi reminded them that the gourds still had to be tested for their fate, and everyone turned to examine the seven gourds on the vine.
  • Nuwa noticed something amiss with the Gourd Vine, and Zhenyuanzi determined that the jet-black seventh gourd lacked Origin Essence.
  • Fuxi reasoned that the vine had run short of energy while nurturing seven gourds, and Xuande asked whether the seventh gourd could be replenished and fully ripened.

Ch. 70The Seventh Gourd

Nuwa and Zhenyuanzi nourished the Gourd Vine until all seven gourds matured, and the gathered cultivators claimed them. Hong Yun and Fuxi each took three gourds, while Xuande caught the escaping seventh gourd and claimed it.

  • Nuwa watered the Gourd Vine with Three Light Divine Water, and Zhenyuanzi added Essence of Innate Wutu, causing the seventh gourd to mature.
  • Hong Yun sensed a connection to the purple-gold, azure blue, and silver-white gourds and claimed them.
  • Fuxi claimed the crimson, green, and orange-yellow gourds, leaving only the mysterious black gourd.
  • The black gourd tore free and tried to escape, but Xuande sealed the cave exit with the Twelve-Petal Merit Golden Lotus and caught it.
  • Xuande said he felt a connection to the black gourd, and the others agreed that he should keep it.

Ch. 71Everyone Went Their Separate Ways

After the seven gourds were claimed, the gathered immortals parted to refine their treasures and continue cultivating. Xuande returned to Spirit Spring Valley, where Wuzhen greeted him and reported that his injuries had healed and the Dao Ancestor’s seal on his Six Ears divine ability had loosened.

  • Xuande advised Nuwa to take the withered Gourd Vine, and she stored it away.
  • Fuxi and Hong Yun planned to refine their three gourds and prepare to sever corpses, while the others returned to their homes and continued cultivating.
  • Nuwa and Fuxi stayed on Buzhou Mountain, Zhenyuanzi and Hong Yun returned to Wuzhuang Temple, and Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti returned to Mount Sumeru.
  • Xuande examined his Mysterious Black Gourd, then left Mount Sumeru alone for Spirit Spring Valley.
  • Wuzhen welcomed Xuande after several thousand years apart and said his injuries had healed and his Six Ears divine ability had nearly recovered, with the Dao Ancestor’s seal much looser.

Ch. 72Great Sage Suit

Xuande rewarded Wuzhen with a spiritual treasure, a cultivation method, and a specially forged outfit, helping prepare his disciple for the path ahead. Wuzhen began refining his new rod as Xuande resumed consolidating his cultivation.

  • Xuande gave Wuzhen the As-You-Will Iron Rod Soldier and instructed him to refine it and bring it into harmony with his mind.
  • Xuande taught Wuzhen a cultivation method tailored to his Six Ears divine ability, guiding him toward the Grand Unity Golden Immortal peak while leaving the path to Quasi-Saint for him to discover.
  • Xuande forged Wuzhen a Chain Mail Golden Armor, Phoenix-Winged Purple-Gold Crown, and Lotus-Root Silk Cloud-Treading Boots from Innate Spiritual Materials using Merit Flame.
  • Wuzhen put on the outfit, thanked Xuande, and went deeper into the valley to refine the rod.
  • Xuande meditated on the bluestone to consolidate his cultivation, while Jieyin and Zhunti cultivated beneath the Bodhi Tree on Mount Sumeru.

Ch. 73The Simplified Chaos Bead: Chaos Gourd

Xuande discovered that the Mysterious Black Gourd contained an immense space of Chaos Qi and realized it might let him create a world and improve his chances of Proving Dao with Strength. After completely refining it, he emerged from seclusion and watched Wuzhen practice with the As-You-Will Iron Rod Soldier.

  • Xuande explored the Mysterious Black Gourd and found a vast chaotic space within it.
  • Xuande concluded that the gourd might allow him to create a Great Thousand World and support Proving Dao with Strength.
  • Xuande spent years refining the gourd until it was completely connected to his mind.
  • Xuande emerged from seclusion and saw Wuzhen practicing martial arts with the As-You-Will Iron Rod Soldier.
  • Wuzhen finished his practice and noticed Xuande watching him.

Ch. 74The Treasure-Dropping Golden Coin

Xuande left Mount Sumeru to search Mount Wuyi for the Treasure-Dropping Golden Coin. He found the treasure hidden behind an Innate Restriction and saw that it remained unclaimed.

  • Wuzhen told Xuande that he had refined the As-You-Will Iron Rod Soldier and reached the Peak Grand Unity Golden Immortal realm.
  • Xuande found Jieyin and Zhunti still in seclusion, left them a Jade Slip, and instructed Wuzhen to keep cultivating while he was away.
  • Xuande traveled east across the Primordial Wilderness toward Mount Wuyi in search of the Treasure-Dropping Golden Coin.
  • Xuande sensed the treasure within Mount Wuyi, followed its aura to a secluded valley, and passed through its illusory Innate Restriction.
  • Xuande found the Treasure-Dropping Golden Coin floating on a stone platform and noted that Xiao Sheng and Cao Bao had not yet been born.

Ch. 75The Plan for a Tea Garden in the West

Xuande obtained the Treasure-Dropping Golden Coin and searched Mount Wuyi for the Enlightenment Tea Tree, gathering several lesser tea trees along the way. He uncovered a hidden restriction at the summit and opened a passage into a pocket dimension.

  • Xuande suppressed the Treasure-Dropping Golden Coin's resistance, claimed it, and left the misty valley.
  • Xuande searched Mount Wuyi for the Enlightenment Tea Tree and collected several groups of low- and middling-grade Innate tea trees to take back to Mount Sumeru.
  • Xuande reached the summit and detected a faint fluctuation beneath a moss-covered bluestone.
  • Xuande carefully loosened the Innate Restriction covering the stone with Merit Golden Light until it opened a doorway.
  • Xuande stepped through the doorway into a small pocket dimension.
