A real alien war of invasion, one whose impact would spread across at least half the world!
Only with such a war could Earthlings recognize the dangers of the universe and humanity's weakness, sparking a wave of alien technology. Then, pressure from the aliens would force Earthlings out of the Solar System to conquer the cosmos.
Just like in the Three-Body world, only by truly feeling the crisis of extinction could Earthlings hope to unite against a common enemy and make enormous progress.
There were many ways to carry out the plan, but now that he could let others fight to the death to accomplish it for him, that was naturally better than personally going out to find aliens!
