Chen Mo saw Jackson's nosebleed and naturally wanted to put on a show too, but he realized he had no red liquid on hand that could be made to look like blood.
Sigh! What a pain! I can't even pretend to be injured. Even though there was a fellow beside him constantly bleeding from the nose, he truly did not want to use Jackson's blood to decorate himself. So, he could only lower his head and put on an act.
Moreover, Chen Mo noticed that even the little bit of blood the mercenaries had shed was absorbed by the bluish stone beneath them. It then flowed along the patterns below, toward the center of the tower-shaped structure, before running directly into the pitch-black space beneath it!
"Huh? Monroe, you're not hurt?" Jackson asked in astonishment when he saw that Chen Mo was not bleeding.
"SH**t! Of course I am! My head hurts like hell!" Chen Mo could only make an excuse. Looking around, nearly all the mercenaries were using things to wipe their noses and the corners of their eyes. Some even had blood trickling from the corners of their eyes.
The earlier spiritual resonance had naturally caused greater harm to those with weaker constitutions, so their facial features bled slightly to varying degrees. Fortunately, this bleeding was only a mild symptom. They merely felt headaches and dizziness, which would ease after a little rest.
Chen Mo's excuse of having a headache made Jackson agree with him. Jackson's head currently felt as though someone had viciously struck it with a Wooden Club. Not only did it hurt terribly, but it also felt dull and heavy.
Hearing Chen Mo complain, he complained as well.
Fortunately, Jackson's head hurt and he was still wiping away blood, so he spoke and complained quietly
