White Snake of She Mountain

Bai Ruxue was originally an injured small white snake found after an eagle attack. Xiao Mo saved and nursed her despite her hostility, then named her “Bai Ruxue” because she was “fair, like snow.” She gradually trusted him and accepted the name. 23

After taking human form, Bai Ruxue lived with Xiao Mo in Shiqiao Village under the cover identity of a deceased friend's daughter. Naive about human customs, she nearly burned down the kitchen during her first attempt at cooking because she believed “cooked” meant putting whole animals directly into boiling water. She later studied cooking under Aunt Chen. 33 34

Her younger sister, Bai Qingliu—usually called Xiao Qing—eventually joined them. Bai Ruxue became deeply attached to Xiao Mo and openly realized that she had fallen for him. 43 44

Refusal of the Immortal Path

Daoist Priest Fuchen recognized Bai Ruxue's exceptional talent and invited her to join the Tian Xuan Sect. Bai Ruxue refused, insisting that she needed to remain with Xiao Mo and care for him. 39 41

Although Xiao Mo understood that cultivation and sect protection would benefit her future Dragon Transformation, he ultimately accepted her choice. Fuchen left Bai Ruxue a jade pendant so that she could seek the Tian Xuan Sect if she changed her mind. 40 41

Bai Ruxue later entered hibernation and molting, concealed with Fuchen's help. She remained asleep for forty-eight years before awakening, at which point she immediately wished to see Xiao Mo again. 52 63

River Journey and Flood Dragon Transformation

To advance along the Dragon Transformation path, Bai Ruxue entered the rivers. Xiao Mo used his own accumulated fortune and influence to prepare the waterways and protect her journey. 71 77

She crossed the Chun Song River and entered the Luo River, where she fought the Luo River Water God, Meng Qianqian. During the battle, she developed dragon claws, shed her former snake skin, and emerged as a white Flood Dragon. 77

Bai Ruxue endured a subsequent lightning tribulation and obtained Dragon Thunder Liquid. Cultivators immediately pursued her for the liquid and her bloodline, but she fought through their attacks while prioritizing the treasure's safety. 81

Xiao Mo's Death and the Search for His Soul

After Xiao Mo's death, Bai Ruxue attempted to use the Dragon clan's Soul Gathering Array to collect his scattered soul, even as heavenly tribulation struck the soul sphere. 82

She refused to abandon the search regardless of its duration:

“Whether it's a hundred years, a thousand years, or ten thousand years, I will search.” 83

For roughly a thousand years, she traveled through Human Race kingdoms, gathered reincarnation-seeking techniques, treated plague victims, helped ordinary people, and subdued Yao. She eventually reached the Immortal Realm and founded the North Sea Dragon Palace so that its forces could aid her search. 87

Bai Ruxue spent another seven hundred years gathering materials to establish the Three Lives Array, an array capable of sensing Xiao Mo's reincarnation. After more than two thousand years of waiting, the array activated and led her to Huanyu Village, where she found Xiao Mo reincarnated as a child. 87 88

Huanyu Village and the North Sea

Bai Ruxue settled in Huanyu Village as “Sister Bai,” helped the villagers with daily work, and taught the reincarnated Xiao Mo literacy, Confucian classics, cultivation methods, and sword techniques. 91 95

Determined not to lose him again, she refined a pill using Dragon Thunder Liquid, rare ingredients, seven Flood Dragons, and a drop of her vital blood. The pill was meant to improve Xiao Mo's root bones and open his spiritual meridians. 90 92

When Li Fengshan attempted to capture her with the Dragon Catching Basket and threatened Xiao Mo, Bai Ruxue revealed her Flood Dragon form, killed Li Fengshan, and destroyed his escaping soul. Xiao Mo accepted her identity without fear. 97

Yan Ruxue Identity and True Dragon Transformation

While using the identity of Yan Ruxue, Bai Ruxue entered the Zhou Kingdom's imperial sphere as the prospective Empress. She maintained a composed public image, though her golden vertical pupils and command of the Four Seas exposed her true status to powerful cultivators such as Jiang Qingyi. 100 101

Bai Ruxue later fought Tianqiong Daoist alongside Xiao Mo. Xiao Mo transferred his accumulated Human Race merit to purge the Sha Qi from her body, preparing her for her final tribulation. 147

Bai Ruxue then returned to the North Sea, subjugated the East, West, South, and North Seas, and became the Lord of the Four Seas. She ordered her subjects to search for methods of reassembling scattered souls and destroyed Tianlan Sect in pursuit of such knowledge. 155

She later obtained the Return to Origin Technique from a forbidden area. The technique, together with a scroll recording Xiao Mo's life, could potentially recondense his shattered soul and allow him to reincarnate, though it required the Netherworld Cold Spring and an Earth Nether Fish. 156 157
