Xiao Mo left the mountain to pursue the Holy Son mission and uncovered Wangchuan Sect’s plan to sacrifice Maple Leaf City, killing Qian Zhenhao and destroying the sect. He set Madam Wang and Ning Wei on the road to Myriad Dao Sect and continued toward Black Dragon Sect with Wang Xin following him.

• Xiao Mo defeated Xia Yu in the Holy Son trials, and Ding Jingyi decreed that the candidate who killed Wang Xin would become Holy Son and the next Sect Master.
• Xiao Mo declined Xue Kui’s offer to kill Wang Xin for him, left Karma Blood Peak, and later traveled toward the Black Dragon Sect while seeking the other candidates.
• In Maple Leaf City, Xiao Mo learned that Ning Wei’s Yin Yang Eyes made her a target and offered to take her and Madam Wang to safety, while Qian Zhenhao secretly prepared a blood sacrifice.

Xiao Mo rose to the Jade Uncut Realm, claimed the Chaos cub, and hunted the sects targeting him while Wang Xin stayed by his side. As Xue Kui uncovered a hidden array beneath the Myriad Dao Sect, Xiao Mo faced a deadly tribulation against his Blood Fiend self.

• Xiao Mo continued killing his pursuers as his Blood Fiend Qi worsened, while Wang Xin stayed with him and tried to suppress it despite the risk to her Buddhist cultivation.
• Si Li joined Xiao Mo and Wang Xin on the road, then traveled with them to the Black Dragon Sect, where Xiao Mo reunited with Zheng Shanhan and Lou Tai and killed Chang Fen during the Emperor Beast Sect’s challenge.
• Luo Jie opened the Chaos Secret Realm, where Xiao Mo rescued Si Li, resisted the cavern’s illusions, defeated Chaos, and took responsibility for its newborn cub.
• Xiao Mo refused Tang Beifeng’s demand for the cub, returned to the Black Dragon Sect, and reached the Jade Uncut Realm after two months of meditation and a devastating tribulation.
• Xiao Mo left the Black Dragon Sect with Wang Xin, while Xue Kui decided to become the Weapon Spirit for Ink Dye and Si Li returned to the Myriad Dao Sect to support Xiao Mo.
• Xiao Mo defeated sect masters and destroyed demonic sects for over two years as Wang Xin traveled with him, while Xue Kui identified a Spirit Gathering Magic Array surrounding the Myriad Dao Sect.
• Ding Jingyi drained ten imprisoned cultivators beneath the Myriad Dao Sect into a statue, while Xiao Mo began a tribulation and fell beneath an avalanche after Blood Fiend Xiao Mo struck him.

After surviving his failed tribulation, Xiao Mo returned to the Myriad Dao Sect and fought to save it from Ding Jingyi and an ancient god, but Xue Kui died from her injuries. Taking her place as sect master, Xiao Mo conquered much of the Western Regions and began a war against the Buddhist sects, while Wang Xin set out to stop him.

• Wang Xin rescued the gravely wounded Xiao Mo, and after recovering in the mortal village, he rebuilt his damaged cultivation with Blood Fiend Qi and survived a second tribulation.
• Xiao Mo returned to the Myriad Dao Sect as Ding Jingyi sealed the sect and tried to become its sole god, then joined Xue Kui in defeating the ancient god possessing him.
• Xue Kui entrusted Karma Blood Peak to Xiao Mo and died after telling him of her past, and Xiao Mo buried her with Yu Yunwei before becoming sect master.
• Xiao Mo imposed new laws on the Myriad Dao Sect and defeated the Nine Demons Alliance when it invaded, then launched a campaign against the demonic sects.
• Over three years, Xiao Mo conquered eight of the ten great demonic sects and destroyed abusive Buddhist temples, earning the name Devil Master as the Buddhist sects formed an alliance against him.
