with the widest reach, was "Root," the organization Danzo had built single-handedly.
When Hyuga Yu arrived at Root's camp, it was brightly lit. Dozens of busy Root members streamed in and out, collating vast amounts of information, distilling it, and sorting out actionable intelligence.
Hyuga Yu stopped concealing himself, dismissing the wind around him that refracted the light. The instant he emerged from invisibility, the treasures plundered from the Kaguya Clan's secret vault glittered brilliantly. Several mid-ranking Root officers inside the tent froze. They instinctively assumed defensive stances, but once they recognized the newcomer's face, they all started in shock and immediately dropped to one
knee, bowing their heads in salute. "Lord Heavenly Ninja!"
Hyuga Yu waved a hand and pointed, using Wind Release to set down the Kaguya treasures, worth approximately 1.6 billion ryō in total. Then he looked at a somewhat familiar man before him. "I remember you. You're one of Aburame Ryūma's subordinates. We met once in the Nameless Forest, I believe. Your name was... Leopard?"
Root's code names could be inherited. The name Leopard had appeared before the Five Kage Summit, during Tsunade's tenure. Back then, the political struggle between Tsunade and Danzo had reached its peak, and Tsunade had secretly ordered Yamato to kill the holder of that code name.
But now, in
